Charity is not socialism. The people who are staunchly against socialism advocate charity in PLACE OF socialism.

of course.
my point was: if you dont even do charity, how can you support socialism? demanding loot from other players, and kicking if they dont comply is socialist, not charity.

Well, decent human beings would just offer the loot to someone who can use it. 25 gold has a real world value of one cent. A penny. It's nothing. Meanwhile, the upgrade has an emotional value to the person who could use it far greater than that.

If ive been farming a dungeon for a new trinket. I grabbed my guildies and let you come along for a +9 or w.e and the trinket i need drops for you and you tell me youre going to vendor it instead of letting me have it cuz 30 gold is better than being a decent person..... yeah ur probably not going to be advancing into the +10 with my group. Just sayin.

Let's take this situation and even go a step further: I loot that trinket you want, its tradeable, AND i'm an enchanter.

Scenario A:
You say - "Mvura doesn't need that item, its an upgrade for me. Its an upgrade for me, and I really really want it, so give it to me now. If you don't, we'll kick you."

Scenario B:
You say - "Dang, i really want that trinket. If you're not going to use it, can I have it?"

Scenario A sends me into a blind rage. If you don't kick me first, i'll disenchant it in front of you. Scenario B will get me to hand over something that is worth potentially 500 gold.
...
of course.

gold in game has no set value across the playerbase. some need it more than others, so where the fel did you get 1 cent?

and emotional value? i would think yhe strongest emotion you feel from taking someone's loot via public shaming is guilt. you should feel guilty for creating a social rule out of thin air and then manipulating other players into following it.

there is no justification for FORCING someone to give up their loot.

master looter was vastly inferior to what we have now, even in the hands of the best GLs/RLs.

How exactly does a posi-trac rear-end on a Plymouth work?

It involves gerbils. That's all I can share at this time.

Master Looter is still the best outcome for groups that trust each other if for no other reason than enchanting exists.
Tell them it might be an upgrade for you, but you'll need to run SImcraft against it to make sure, and you'll do that after the final boss is down. Remind them that it will take about 5 minutes to do it.
Odds are, the person who wants it will forget and log off at the end, or won't have the patience to wait.

point taken

i dont know if it qualifies as "best". it certainly has its niche, but i think if we did a poll, most guilds run personal on everything except their core group. im glad we have the option for when it makes sense, but it and its ilk has no place in non-core groups.
I've had this happen once, and they threatened to kick me. But after reasoning with them that if they kicked me, there was a 100% chance at them not getting it, and then they'd have to wait for a new join, wasting more time, they just grumbled and called me names and we moved on.

I don't understand the thought process of you have something you don't need, but want anyways for reason x, but you have to give it to me because I said so.

The way things are now makes this system almost obsolete. I run dungeons with 3 others on coms, when a boss goes down, we all ask if the others need it if we dont. Master looter would just elongate the process.
I mean you're not obligated to give it to them, but it's a ##@%#%*% move not to, and I respect their decision to boot you. you're going to vendor an upgrade for a party member for 25 gold, which can be obtained in about 2 seconds via professions.

The ratio 25 gold is to 40000 gold (one WoW token) is the same as 1 cent to $20. Yes, we are forced to do the decent thing every day. It's called having morals and empathy. Perhaps you should develop some.

You are a complete and utter scumbag if you would not give an upgrade to someone who politely asks because you want 25 gold.

That is weird, when I ask if I can have drops, and somebody says no, I simply move on.

That being said, you should be getting plenty of gold from world quests and Class hall missions, so vendor trash is a bad reason to not pass out an upgrade. Transmog however is completely understandable. (especially if its your class tier)

At the end of the day though, It's your loot. You should totally make friends with an enchanter so you can pass your "extra" loot over to them, and SHARD IT IN THE LOOT BEGGERS FACE.

The only reason is it is in my bags and I choose what to do with it. You don't like it too bad. IMO asking for anything from somebody else is bad. Just makes you look like a begger who doesn't want to put the time into gearing! Want loot run more because none of you will ever get anything that drops into my bags unless you buy it!

Politely asking for something is bad, when it has minimal value to you? The fact that people like you exist makes me fear for the future of the human race.

You sound like an !@#$%^-. 25g is nothing. An upgrade can be massive.

You needing an upgrade means nothing to me since I'll never see you again after I ignore your lazy a$$.

Her is an idea run more than one dungeon to gear up like other people did don't get all entitled little boy!

Oh btw I never said anything about gold! That is your hang up I just said it was mine to do as I please with no matter how much of a jerk you are about it I won't change!

You are a lazy SoB crying about people not giving you something you were never entitled to in the first place. Try demanding that I give you something IRL and I'll make sure you regret it! FYI it has nothing to do with gold and a lot to do with you lazy SoB's who can't be bothered to kill more than one boss to get fully geared. Stop expecting others to gear your lazy a$$.

Politely asking is not demanding. Gaming is more fun when people are willing to work together. Why do you feel the need to act like this? It is not lazy to want to share loot. If I get something I don't need (which is anything from a mythic dungeon or LFR), I share it. Why is it so hard for you to do the same? I have given away far more loot than anyone has shared with me. But yes, I'm sure you are a great person, guy who threatens violence on people who ask you for anything in real life.

Nobody ever politely asked for anything but yeah it would kill you people to say please wouldn't it? All i have even seen is people begging an being jerks but that is typical of the participation trophy generation. You want something get it from somewhere besides my bags. Not really hard concept to follow! OK kiddies had enough you keep arguing between yourselves on who is entitled to what drops into my bags !
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors goods. - יהוה

This is a universal balancing point, and when it is ignored, conflict is the result.

I never threatened violence on anyone that's just some crap in your head kiddo!
You might want to take a remedial reading class so you can get some reading comprehension.
I'm sure that participation trophy didn't teach you any comprehension.
Don't really care what you did or didn't do and I'm not here to impress anyone or make friends I have those I don't need some random pile of crap telling me what I should and shouldn't be doing! Don't you have a life to run instead of others?
