I Want A Casino

General Discussion
Lets be honest. Everything is RNG now, so why not add some real fun RNG elements to the game like pvp casino games? It can give us another way to play with our gold besides playing the AH.

We can have games like:

-Texas holdem
-Craps
-Roulette
-Slot Machine

It can be another Darkmoon Faire style fun zone that pops up ever month at Gallywix's Pleasure Palace with live entertainment, music, drinks, and dance studio. It would be yuge.

Believe me.
It comes with a whole bunch of gambling rules though for online gambling, especially with the implementation of battle.net currency for gold.

Also some people have problems (not in a rude way). I used to play puzzle pirates and they had to implement a way for you to set your account to NOT let you bet at all because people would gamble away their Pieces of Eight (PoE). Texas hold em, hearts, spades, and other drinking games.
No one would ever go to Vegas if it had the odds/RNG system in WoW.

I remember gambling in EQ and in early WoW. Spamming numbers was a pain in the butt.
3/10 should have called it a big, beautiful casino, 7 stories high

We don't need to comply with SEC for the auction house so why would gambling apply to fake currency?

With my name, in gold and in light, and in golden lights.
Taking bets on PVP?

I guess the extended consequences there are that now gold has an approximate real money value....and that's against TOS?

hmmm.
"Loosest Slots in Goldshire"
It's gonna be tremendous

Hm, after some checking up on California bills I basically received a "it might be illegal, but probably not, but nothing really says no" answer.... So i'm not sure, guess my information might have been outdated (2014 last time i checked before today).

*Looks at OP's name*

Yet another bad idea from someone named Trump.
But Legion itself is a Casino, why do you think everything is RNG related?
it is funny that in classic there was a mod that would set up a casion in chat. Blizzard got annoyed by it and banned the mod from then on "Gambling" in wow was bannable...

now look at legion...

but this time it would be created and controlled by them to ensure no cheating.
The ESRB throws a fit over gambling and drinking, but not killing thousands of people who come through a portal, go figure.

I suppose a child is more likely to drink or gamble than kill a few thousand people but still, it seems odd.
As long as it's optional.

Unfortunately, Blizzard wants to make everything mandatory these days.

There's a reason I always decline my parents' invitation to join them when they go to a casino. I don't enjoy them. I don't enjoy gambling.

If I'm putting effort into something, I want a reward for that effort instead of "you done good, now /roll 1-10,000 and we'll see if you get anything for your effort".
I loved the casino in FFXIV. Was defintely fun with the weekly/daily stuff they had in there in addition to the card game. Would love to see something similar in WoW.

Umm...Goblins? I mean, who else would run the casino.

"no cheating"?

You haven't been here long, have you?
FWIW this is the WoW ESRB rating

TEEN
Content is generally suitable for ages 13 and up. May contain violence, suggestive themes, crude humor, minimal blood, simulated gambling and/or infrequent use of strong language.

The next up, that includes gambling is

ADULTS ONLY
Content suitable only for adults ages 18 and up. May include prolonged scenes of intense violence, graphic sexual content and/or gambling with real currency.

Adults only can't be sold in retail stores.

I can see why Blizzard doesn't want to get involved in the argument over what is "simulated" or "real currency gambling."

I wouldn't.

Because it doesn't qualify as gambling. IRL auctions are not gambling, so why on earth would the WoW one be?
