Since you’re leveling and starting out learn to manage your rage. Save slam, whirlwind and abilities that cost the most rage when your bar is full so later on you won’t get rage starved.

Secret handshake is a chest thump followed by a fist bump and a headbutt. Welcome to playing a warrior and have fun
Charge often, Shockwave will save your life, don't take Second Wind, Intimidating Shout is for emergencies only (because it usually causes more problems than it solves), use Battlecry on cooldown, always carry food to eat.

And lastly, never run from a PVP encounter. You won't get away, and you will dishonor Warriors everywhere by turning your back to the enemy!
And Fray Island is that way ::points westward::
The bigger your sword is, the harder it hits *casually looks at his Armageddons*

Also, if you feel a bit lost, Icy veins has some decent startup guides that could help clear up some basics.

Wait a minute...I've been told it was a butthump, a fist thump and a chest bump, in that specific order! Now I begin to understand the confusion.

I think the headbutt only applies if you have a helmet with horns or are playing as a Tauren.

Also, make sure to check out the Warrior Discord channel too!
I think the link is in one of the other posts on this forum, or you can Google it. I'd post it but can't since work blocks Discord.

Thelsuo, thanks. I’ve played this class for 12 years now and I simply just love playing a warrior. Toki has and always will be my main, at some point we were all new and needed some assistance in the game. I’m always willing to answer any questions a new warrior has because I want them to have the same fun of playing the class that I do.

Play what you love, don't play because it's FoTM. When I first made this warrior (my second one for alliance) Arms was 100% FoTM. I am always competitive with dps in guild groups and always strive to be number one and I am for the part in my guild runs, but I enjoyed Fury over Arms a lot better. I enjoyed the burst more, I was able to survive more in world quests, I can solo almost anything, the ability to leap away and charge in to get half my HP with bloodthirst is fun. Play both specs and stick with one to get fluent with it, to get used to it. Since arms are fury are hard sometimes to track buffs I suggest a weakaura. Depending on which one you use, it will remind you which to use and will help guide you in the right direction.

I have been using Nooke's Fury/Arms weakauras (weak aura 2 btw not 1) and it helped me track Frothing berserker a lot, as well as my buffs while keeping an eye out on my screen/over my character. Machine listed some great resources and I highly suggest you read them all.

Just have fun and rage on!
Aww you guys are awesome! Thanks for the welcome!

Thanks for the information! I've definately bookmarked some of that to read a bit more indepth as I get further progressed.

Having so much fun!

A lot of that stuff is a bit over my head at the moment, but I really appreciated the information on monitoring rage - it doesn't matter for most quest mobs as they fall over dead in like 2 hits, but a few of the elite mobs which take longer than that to kill I've noticed I had to be more mindful of my rage.

And I didn't pick Warrior for FoTM - though that is good advice. I have mained a healing priest for 10 years in wow - and wanted to just try something completely and utterly different. Warrior is definitely that. I have never really played DPS - much less a melee class - it's a whole new world.

I have some excellent WeakAuras you (or anyone interested) can use! (simply ask for them and i'll put them in Waigo for you).

TOS Warrior DPS cheat sheet (i know you're lvl 31 or so) Just an idea of what talents do and such (also for anyone else interested, ik the raid is ending soon...)

Don't reroll DK - they aint as cool as we are.

Most definitely play whichever spec appeals to you the most!
Fury - Easy to learn, fun to play, cool to watch, great solo ability.
Arms - Requires you to think a small amount, planning, rotation isn't bad at all, hard to solo stuff until somewhat geared and have traits.
Prot - Great fun, can be great raid tanks if skillfully played, great at solo stuff, You can pretty much fight anyone in this game and win once you're geared to the teeth in WPvP. (including other tanks... Ignore Pain is wonderful). Good M+ tanks.
Strength matters less the secondary stats as fury and arms. Mastery > Strength for arms, Haste > Strength for fury. This has been the case for multiple expansions, just with different stats.
Moving up in the world. Level 108. Still having fun. =)

Had to change names when I switched from secondary account to primary account.

I've finally started running a few dungeons - if the tank is good at positioning - holding the boss pretty steady my dps is pretty solid - when I get a jittery/happy tank who constantly moves the boss this way and that way even when no mechanic/ground cover bad stuff requires it - I have a bit harder time keeping up.

But that seems to be more of a melee thing. New respect for melee dps!
If you are playing fury, haste is your friend.
Also use Simcraft and pawn, it has helped me out a lot. Currently recovering from some bad gear choices I made earlier on. Every little bit of Haste I get seems to help my dps.
