Item Stat Allocation Re-Balancing

Classic Discussion
Hey folks,

What do people think about re-balancing the stats on certain items, such as the tier 0 set pieces?

Currently, most of tier 0 is not worth attaining due to silly stat allocation (spirit on valor?). Tier 0.5's stat allocation makes much more sense, and the pieces are obviously better/more desirable.

And/Or applying the 1.12 item rebalancing from the get-go to provide gear for under-represented specs (such as prot paladins/deathbone set).

Maybe creating new items that are geared for under-represented specs?

This won’t go well.
Time to take a break OP, you've been on the internet for to long.
he brings in the point that blizzard themselves reitemized most of the gear to not be stupid in later patches.

so the discussion becomes should blizzard introduce items with their orginial stats or their revised stats?

personally Id like blizzard to have items start already reitemized, it saves me from having to look up quest rewards and what things will become so I know what I might want to hold onto. "oh look this will have hit rating in 6 months, I should hold onto it"

I think you answered your own problem in regards to the saving an item ordeal. If you can look up the info then you already know to keep it.
This game is full of crappy items. Craftables are another good example. Not many people would waste hundreds of gold to craft Sageblade https://vanilla-twinhead.twinstar.cz/?item=22383 while Sorcerous Dagger https://vanilla-twinhead.twinstar.cz/?item=18878 drops every other week. And Sageblade is at least decent, what about Enchanted Thorium https://vanilla-twinhead.twinstar.cz/?item=12619 crap? What about hundreds of expensive craftables that are on par with BRD gear? What about MC drops that are worse than greens?

It could be fun to see people theorycrafting again about a greater variety of gear.

Any design change would require a chain of changes though. Abilities, bosses need to be adjusted if more gear is available. I believe it can in principle be done carefully, without "ruining Vanilla". But since there is a risk of ruining Vanilla, the larger part of mine would prefer them to leave design as it is (in an early patch).
If you readjust the stats on every item you're going to make the raids a lot easier. It'd be like taking every item in Legion and buffing them by 10-15 item levels, and now you've made everything significantly easier to do.
I suppose I should've posted on a troll character judging by some responses, eh?

I'm fine with crappy items, but tier 0 stat allocation just feels like a design mistake to me, that was rectified later on through tier 0.5.

Depending on WHERE classic WoW starts (1.12), that could be fine for more casual players if the tier 0.5 questline is available at the start.

It just feels bad that tier 0, which (for the most part) has great art assets and a class specific aesthetic, is relegated to "worse than TrueStrike", and thus garbage.

New Theorycrafting would be fun, as well. Just like it was when the stats were rebalanced in the 1.10+ patch.

Nonsense.
Own what you say even if its wrong to some people it gives alot more validity to you as a poster.
I qquite often ignore the various level 1 troll rogues woth no achievments for the sole point that they are only posting to troll people.

If you expect to be taken seriously keep posting on your main and if you are trolling someone, when called out on it admit it.

That being said they need to not change a thing for the first year.
A 1.12 patch with rebalanced/retuned instances at a minimum is all they need for now. But i would like content released progressively

... Maybe I'm retarded but, what's so bad about that item?
I think it is bad that a level 50 blue is BiS for some healers than MC epics.

I think it is bad that Mail gear you can make with leatherworking comes with Agility and Spirit instead of Agility and Stamina.

I fully support them making items itemized better.

Gonna need some supporting evidence on the 50 blue being BiS.

My bad, level 42 blue. http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=13102#comments
Your own evidence says "pre-raid". MC is a raid...

Edit: Finding better link.

Edit 2: Took my original comment out to not mislead, wowhead is showing everything from vanilla content being added from patch 1.11 for some reason. So I had to do a little digging and after searching other forums it looks like Cassandra's Grace was added into the game sometime after BWL/ZG (can't confirm for sure because forums seem split on that). However, this item was added after MC was current content when a later raid tier & Diremaul was added so a lot of gear from MC became irrelevant.
I say leave it. I love Vanilla and all its flaws. OP makes a good point though, no need to flame.

Ok so I looked into it, that item was added in patch 1.11 (http://www.wowhead.com/item=13102/cassandras-grace), so by that time almost all gear from MC was irrelevant by then.

Edit: Finding better link.

I believe everything on Wowhead that came before patch 1.11 says it was added in patch 1.11.

So this brings up an important question, do you honestly think that Blizzard has a record of when every item was added in Vanilla? I doubt they do.
