Do you think that my current i5 4670k paired with my new 1070TI will have any issues pushing 60fps at 1440p?

TBH the resolution doesn't mean as much to the CPU as it does to the GPU. That is why most CPUs start giving the same FPS at 4k resolutions because the bottleneck is being shifted to the GPU instead. The 1070TI you got should be a beast at 1440p resolutions so I think you will be fine.

What motherboard do you have?

Have you overclocked your CPU much?

As I understand it, those were pretty capable overclockers?

Its an Asus Z87 Chipset; I may mess around with overclocking once I get the new graphics card installed. What is the recommended air cooler for overclocking these days? I don't really want to mess around with an all in one liquid cooler.

What is the exact model# of the motherboard? Also what is the case you are using? If it's not from a prebuilt we could easily look up clearances online as the better performing air coolers can take up a lot of space. The reason I wonder about the motherboard is I am not sure what the top PCI slot is, the 1x slot for a wifi card or a 16x slot for a GPU.

Here is a pic showing the 16x slot being the first slot:

The 16x slot is circled in red and the 1x slot is circled in blue.

Some of the best air coolers like the Noctua NH-D15 and the Dark Rock Pro 3 can overhang the 1st PCIe slot. I use the Dark Rock Pro 3 in my PC and I got pics on how close the cooler is to my GPU and my motherboard an ASRock AB350m Pro4 has the top PCIe slot as a 1x slot.

Nope its not a prebuilt, the computer is in the Thermaltake Supressor F31 and the x16 PCI slot is the second one down on the motherboard.

Ok great to hear so you basically will have no issue with just about any cooler due to room on the motherboard and that case has a CPU cooler support up to 180mm high.

Here are some high end air coolers that should fit fine and perform as well if not better than some of the 240mm AIO coolers on the market:
PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Qq2fsJ
Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Qq2fsJ/by_merchant/

CPU Cooler: be quiet! - Dark Rock Pro 3 67.8 CFM Fluid Dynamic Bearing CPU Cooler ($89.79 @ OutletPC)
CPU Cooler: Noctua - NH-D15 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler ($87.95 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG - R1 Universal 76.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($89.88 @ OutletPC)

Now there are other air coolers on the market that don't perform as well as those but the performance per dollar spent is better. Also if you keep the brackets that come with the coolers if you ever decide to build a new PC later on you can re-use the same cooler so going all out on an air cooler isn't going to be a waste of money in an older PC.
