Where are the Horde?

If you're posting in a "Horde is Dead" thread with an Alliance character, you can eat my entire !@#$%^-.

The entire thing? But I just had dinner!
Yeah, Valley of Honor in Orgrimmar is where most Orgrimmar RP happens. Silvermoon has always been popular for RP on every RP server, as well.

MG Horde is not dead. It is, however, smaller and generally has less walk-up RP than WrA Horde due to being more guild-oriented. However, there are still plenty of Horde RP community monthly/weekly events, as well.

But if you're telling people to "just go to WrA" or it's dead, you're part of the problem and an annoyance for us on MG Horde and, yeah, most of us are just tired of hearing it by this point.

Because we're living in 2004 and on a PvP server where you're still limited to only having characters in one faction. I don't know about most people, but I tend to have a "posting character" that I stick to, because switching characters is effooorrrrt.

That's cool, but you are aware of the bad optics of the 90th "Horde is Dead" thread being full of Alliance posters, right?

The first step to not hearing it is not saying it.

Hey, grats on digging through my posts to find an out of context to use. Those Project 60 people sure had a long-lasting and meaningful impact on MG Horde, lemme tell ya.

You didn't respond seriously to a Twitch meme?

How dare you, sir.
Last time I tried to RP on Horde it was very clique based.

Oh also being constantly trolled by pricks such as Dominion of the Sun because I dared to RP with a few friends in an empty place that was their "turf" so to speak kinda didn't help.

Horde RP can die for all I care :)

Everyone has experienced what you are talking about regardless of faction.

I am sorry the experience went so poorly for you.

Is this better?

Honestly, it could just be because of my own experiences coloring my perception, but when I see "Horde is Dead" threads full of Alliance characters, what I see are a whole bunch of people who wanted to play on MG Horde, probably tried it at some point, and gave up, moving on to focus on their Alliance characters instead.

Me personally, when my friends a few years back joined big-name Horde guilds I brought over this character here to check out the scene. But since I wasn't able to commit to a full-time largely-out-of-game event schedule and there was very little walkup RP to be found outside of guilds that I could use to form connections to the community that might have encouraged me to eventually get more involved and sign on with a guild, it's pretty much been wasted dollars on a server transfer.

Sure, I could have "been the change I want to see", but I'm not the one invested in the faction thriving. I used to have a blast way back in the old days on a server with two active factions, having characters on both that went back and forth and interacted with both sides, translating for people in the pre-BNet days. It'd be cool if that was here, but ultimately it doesn't really affect me if the Horde is seen as empty and dying because I threw my chips in with the other faction and developed the stories of my Alliance characters in an environment where they could thrive and build.

Instead of getting frustrated about it being talked about, the people who are invested in that not being the case should consider doing more to come down out of their Guild-fortresses, built out of fear that at some point, somehow, someone might point a finger at them and say that they associated with someone problematic at one point, and interact with the community at large despite the risks of getting to know unvetted new people. But for whatever reason, that's not a palatable solution to many of the big guild leaders who are fine with doing their own thing instead of community-building, so...here we are.

If you want the perception to change, do something to change it other than saying that people shouldn't talk about the way things plainly are. I've seen some recent open events going on and that's awesome, but it will take a tectonic shift to revive things fully and that's frankly not my boulder to push.
Well this is certainly a hostile thread.

There's been a lot going on in Silvermoon lately, Symphony of Silvermoon is starting to wrap up, but I don't doubt that the open roleplay will continue past it.

Horde will probably always be small at this point because of the cynicism and pressure to just "go to WrA", but the guilds and groups that are here make due. I suggest poking around for a guild that fits your interests. Regardless of faction, I'd say guilds are the best place to find lasting roleplay.
