A work around has been created. It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing:

They'll fix it when they roll out the new forums.

He's taking a wild guess. He should have said "it's low priority, they'll fix it when they fix it" :P

It would be very helpful if they would be upfront about this, rather than have lots of forum speculation, blizzard, we have a failure to communicate..

That's nothing new though. It's funny though after they said they hired that new blue so they could communicate with us better yet they still suck at it.

That is not what is being talked about. Each expansion is just a graphics background update. We are talking about a complete forum software overhaul/replacement.

I know we got the first major replacement in around 2010. It wiped post history and post count.

Second replacement was to this current version in 2016. They migrated post history, posts, and post count that time. This migration put every Blizzard game on the same forum software build. This lets the Website team more easily manage the website instead of having different forum software for each game.

Next will most likely be to the new forum software they just started using in Overwatch. This will result in a totally new forum software design. Post history and post count will not migrate.

We don't know 100% that they will do this, but they did the last time and it would be in keeping with their current software management philosophy. I am expecting eventually all the games will use the new forums they just deployed for OW. That forum has a lot of new features including much better notification and tracking ability.

And they never bothered to fix/fully integrate the armory... after all this time when you look up an item you get the Oops! message.

It's not like their lack of follow-through is a new thing.

Edit: Here's an example:

PS: Our ability to actually link items was removed with the current forum design.

I hope they don't make it look like OW's forums - they're absolutely hideous.
Status of the broken search history.

.....still broken!
Locking this thread because of the last three pages of negativity. We will post in this thread to provide updates, but the rude commentary is out of hand here.

The team that works on our site and forums has been pinged again today to see if we can move this fix up in their timeline. It's worth noting that they work on tons of stuff on the daily, across our entire web space for all of our games, each with unique requests that are based on priority.

We appreciate the temporary fix that was provided in another thread by that OP, but we'd like to get a first-party solution in place.

Once we have more information to provide, we will do so in this thread - but we will be keeping this locked and closing any new threads that spawn.
