Resurgent 6v6 RBG League

Resurgent 6v6 League

Over the past year, there have been many movements within the PvP scene trying to better it, and create some excitement and community. We have been heavily involved in trying to figure out a way to involve everyone in a fun, non hostile environment and host events for the public. In the past Resurgent has hosted 3v3 Arena Tournaments and given over $1500 away in prize money. We wanted to introduce something a little more groundbreaking and exciting.

Resurgent eSports Broadcasting is proud to announce the first ever 6v6 Rated Battleground League!

The League will consist of multiple seasons of 6v6 play with each season wrapping up in a 6v6 tournament for the top placed teams at the end of each season.

We are publicly releasing our sign ups for the League now. Once in the League, teams will have a chance to compete regularly in the League and compete for a prize and bragging rights should they receive an invitation to the tournament. Invitations to the tournament will be sent to the teams that finish in the upper portion of the standings.

How it will work:

Teams will be able to compete 2 nights a week in 6v6 matches with all of the other teams in the league. By winning matches your team will begin to accumulate points that will set you apart from the rest in our Tournament Standings that will be continuously updated. As the season comes to an end (1-1.5 month period) if you finished in the top percentage of teams in the league a tournament invitation will await your team for prize pools, bragging rights, accolades of success and much more.

When and where can I sign up and when does the first season start?

Sign ups start now! Visit https://goo.gl/forms/9nciWR24kOABXgll2 to sign up. Teams must sign up on the Google Form in order to be placed into our League and start playing! Please note sign-ups are done “by-team” meaning each team’s leader should sign their team up. Also your team may be edited by the leader at any point should you add or remove players from your team.

The start of the 6v6 League Season 1 will be on the second weekend of September 2018. More information will follow with exact dates and times to more closely suit the teams participating.
6v6 Battleground Tournament Rulebook

Team Structure
Team Structure rules outline how a team must sign up to be considered to be competing

Teams must sign up via the Google Form
The battletags listed for each team will be the only battletags allowed to compete for each team.
This Google Form is able to be updated and changed by the team captain only before or after 6v6 play.
Teams are allowed up to a maximum of 12 unique players but must consist of a minimum of 6 unique players.
Consideration should be given to composition requirements when selecting members of your team (see composition requirements)
Teams are required to appoint one player as team captain. The team captain will be required to check in with a tournament admin and confirm that your team is present and ready to go. In the case that your team captain is not able to make it, another player on the team should take his/her spot as captain and inform a tournament admin as soon as possible.
Teams are required to select a team name to compete under. Team names shall not incite hatred to any one or group of individuals, be sexually explicit, contain racial slurs, be profane, or suggest anything that could reasonably be considered to be inappropriate. Resurgent Esports Broadcasting and its admins reserve the right to require a team to change its name for any reason.

II. Composition Requirements
Composition Requirements highlight class and role restrictions to know what can be considered a valid team composition before entering into the battleground.

Team compositions must consist of no more than 1 tank specialization and no more than 2 healer specializations.
Class stacking should be controlled in a way that does not limit the creative utility of a team to counter-pick, but should also preclude the degradation of a healthy competitive atmosphere. For this reason class stacking shall be limited to a maximum of 2 of the same class specialization per team composition.
All players on the team must be max level to be able to queue into the instance and therefore make the team valid.

III. League Format
League Format describes the tournament and games leading up the tournament layout and how teams advance.

Each League season will consist of a series of weeks of exhibition matches where teams are able to compete to accumulate points in their 6v6 standings, and finish with a tournament where the top teams will compete in either a single or double elimination bracket.
Exhibition play will allow teams to check-in and be guaranteed a certain number of games that night depending on how many teams show up. Some nights a schedule may or may not be given out.
Teams will earn points by winning matches which will contribute to their total point score. Each series provides a total of 3 points to be awarded (one for each game). If a team wins the first two games in the series they will collect 2 points plus a bonus point for the third game that was not required to be played to win the series.
Individual season tournament rules may supersede the format rules herein and should be read before competing to understand the tournament format for that tournament.
Teams will be eligible every week to earn 3 points by simply participating in both nights of exhibition matches that week. Teams must play at least one match to be considered participating.
IV. Check-in Procedure
To check-in on days of 6v6 play your team captain must check your team in with a resurgent admin. CHECK-IN TIME WILL ALWAYS BEGIN 1 HOUR BEFORE PLAY BEGINS AND IS REQUIRED EVERY DAY OF TOURNAMENT OR EXHIBITION PLAY.

Teams are allowed to change battletags of individuals competing on their team for the last and final time ONLY at check-in on the first day of tournament play.

V. Match Proceedings
Match Proceedings explains how a series is to be conducted and defines the various time allotments for composition and map selections. All tournament and exhibition matches will be done via war games which allows gear to be equalized and individual player rating to be unaffected in any way.

The first map of every matchup will be Battle for Gilneas.

Team Compositions are blind for the first match, meaning teams will not know the team composition that they are about to go up against.

The loser of the Battle for Gilneas match will be contacted by the tournament admins and will have no more than 2 minutes to select the next map.

Maps available for selection are as follows:
Temple of Kotmogu
Silvershard Mines
Warsong Gulch
Twin Peaks

Maps may only be selected once per series, meaning teams can not play any battleground twice in the same series

After a map has been selected the team that won the Battle for Gilneas will have a maximum of 2 minutes to declare their team composition to the tournament admin.

The team that lost the Battle for Gilneas will then learn what team composition their opponents have selected and have a maximum of 2 minutes to declare their team composition to the tournament admin.

After this both teams must be on standby for the tournament admin to begin the wargame.

All exhibition and tournament matchups will be determined by the team who wins 2 out of 3 possible matches. The tournament championship matchup will be determined by the team who wins 3 out of the 5 possible matches.

VI. Fair Play Rules
Fair Play Rules are included to keep the games fun and honest. Teams who violate any or multiple of these rules are subject to disqualification from the tournament and possibly more extreme measures including blacklisting from future tournaments. If at any time you suspect the other team to be breaking the tournament rules in any way please contact a Tournament Admin.

Any team found to be cheating will be immediately disqualified from the league.

Any team found to be utilizing exploits will be immediately disqualified from the league. These exploits are prohibited in Blizzard’s Terms of Service and could result in blacklisting from future tournaments.

Piloting is not allowed and could result in the blacklisting from future league seasons. Players who sign up to compete are the only ones allowed to compete under the team they signed up with.

Tampering, DDOS-ing, interfering with, or harassment of another team will be dealt with and could possibly lead to disqualification and blacklisting from future Resurgent ESB events. Attempts to interfere with another players connection will always result in a permanent ban for that player and possibly their teammates from all Resurgent Esports Broadcasting future tournaments and events.

If a team does not show up for their match during a seasonal tournament they forfeit the matchup and are disqualified from the tournament and could possibly be blacklisted from future seasons or events

Gambling on the results or happenings of this league’s matches, teams, or outcomes is strictly forbidden

Players always have the right to express their opinions in a professional and sportsmanlike manner. Tournament disputes or player violation reports must be reviewed by the administrative organizers before any information is released publicly.

Players may stream their play in the League, but accept full responsibility for broadcasting their strategies, methods, and play tactics or jeopardizing their success in the league in any way.
Why will our tournaments work compared to all previous attempts at an RBG tournament?:

As we are all aware there have been very few attempts at an rbg tournament, and most have failed. Our team at Resurgent has had a relentless pursuit of making a positive impact on the WoW Community and has been working for the better part of the last year in reworking the necessary ui/addons to properly stream an rbg event, which we have completed. We have been networking and testing the community of Rated Battlegrounds and are ready to go public. We have a team with the manpower and resources to pull off all organisational aspects of the league and tournament, including but not limited to streaming it successfully, updating standings, websites, getting and updating teams and rosters, etc. as well as a strong presence in the PvP community. Resurgent has successfully hosted two 3v3 tournaments and has perfected the UI and streaming aspects of our 6v6’s.

By joining our Discord, Community in World of Warcraft or one of our guilds (on Bleeding Hollow-Horde, more to come) you can join hundreds of other gamers and PvPers of all skills from R1 to new. We are an active PvP community already and intend to raid in BFA. This is the easiest way to find rbgs or arena of any cr, and also stay up to date on upcoming events. Happy hunting and thanks for reading. Stay tuned!

We want your input, come talk to us:

There will be an open discussion with Q & A on our Discord next week on Wednesday July 25th at 9pm Eastern Standard Time to answer any of the questions you all may have, and to get the feedback from the community so that we can implement any really good ideas or concerns into our planning before the 6v6 League starts in BFA!

Bump
Looking forward to this!
Definitely telling all the boys about this one.
No offense, please stop. You have zero experience hosting tournaments and no offense you have 0 reputation in this community To host this tourney.

Without any prize pool, this will be a flop once again.

Your last tournament was awful, you guys had 2 full weeks to test out the stream and addons; yet you guys failed and made the rbg community a laughing stock.

Let the big boys handle this one; I have sponsorships and money in place to host a REAL 10v10 tournament with backings from top players and GMs.

You blew your one chance to do it right.
Any hopes for a pre season, either in august or in pre patch?

Might be better than having the reputation of dodging the entire ladder.

Rbg community has been a joke for a long time prior to OP's failures.

Counting your mom as a sponsor is debatable.

This is being ran by Resurgent eSports Broadcasting. We have a history of running successful 3v3 tournaments, have sponsor backing, and will eventually announce our prize pool for the main tournament.

The purpose of this is to build a formal league for a bracket that doesn't currently exist and add a new element to the RBG community. Given the release of BFA and widespread changes to a variety of specs, this will give players an opportunity to test out new builds, new comps, and new strategies in a different format than they'd usually get.

If you have something constructive to bring to the table, please do. Insulting somebody for making an attempt at bringing people in the community together behind an event adds nothing to the discussion and helps nobody. Take your negativity elsewhere.

For the rest of you that like the idea and want to take part, get your team signed up at https://goo.gl/forms/9nciWR24kOABXgll2

Most likely no. We've actually had to postpone our 3v3 tournament due to how much everything is out of wack.

We want to give players a chance to level to 120, obtain some gear, and get comfortable with the new builds and play styles everybody will have to learn.
Looks really great guys. Keep up all the hard work will be sure to let all my pvp friends know about this one!
