Its an animatic (basically animated storyboard), and it was done in a western style not an eastern one.

Eastern style animation is a lot different from what we got. It is just not a full on CGI cinematic or pseudo in-game pre-rendered cutscene like we are used to Blizzard doing. They saved that for their Siege of Lordaeron trailer for the game and for Battle for Azeroth proper.

Keep in mind that this is just a pre-patch event. Once BFA releases those who miss it will ask why their Teldrassil is suddenly on fire and they have to talk to an NPC to get darnassus back.
Those tears in Dela's Sylvanas' high elf pre-undead much emotion. They couldn't have done that with the regular old machinima they usually do.

That final scene in Jaina's where she finally looks up with those eyes and says "...beware of me..." omg I got goosebumps. Can't get that kind of reaction or visceral response from some in-game models.
