M Gul'dan: Soul Siphon 550%-880% too strong

Dungeons, Raids and Scenarios
TL;DR Soul Siphon is absorbing ~107% health points of player health in healing compared to ~16% player health during progression and ~10% right before prepatch.

  • Soul Siphon (phase 2 Mythic Gul'dan) is absorbing 32.1k healing.
  • Current health pools of a 240 ilvl dps/healer character is 30k.
  • So this currently absorbs is 107% of player health pools.

Logs from 2 kills of Gul'dan this week showing it absorbs 32.1k per application:
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/cAQm8fCXw2nKdFk6/#fight=22&type=healing&options=2048&by=target
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/cAQm8fCXw2nKdFk6/#fight=12&type=healing&options=2048&by=target

Compare this to our kill right before prepatch where it absorbed only 650k:
  • 650k is only 10.83% of typical 240 ilvl (960 ilvl) player health of 6 million.
  • When Gul'dan was current content this was only 16.25% of a highly geared player's health of 4 million.

Logs from kill the week before prepatch:
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/4r3bCdZP2zn8fjAX#fight=last&type=healing&options=2048&by=target

107/16.25= 6.58 = 658% of (or 558% stronger) when it was progression
107/10.83= 9.88 = 988% of (or 888% stronger) than the week before 8.0

We still kill him by stacking 4-5 healers and using 1 to 2 healing CDs on each siphon. But even then someone who is getting targeted by an [Eye of Gul'dan lasers] + [Flames of Sargeras] + [dot from Soulwell soaking] can die in seconds easily since they literally cannot be healed until you first do more than their total health pool in healing--can only lay on hands once per paladin and Soul Siphon gets applied 2-3 times.

In our 7 minute kill, we had 5 waves of [Soul Siphon]. Each wave applies to 6 players at a time. So that's 30*32.1k= 963,000 healing absorbed during phase 2--or 6*32.1k= 192.6k healing absorbed per soul siphon. Assuming healers are doing about 4-6k HPS (lets say 5k avg), that means it would take 4 healers 192.6k/(4k*5)= 9.63 seconds to heal through each Soul Siphon. So the people with Siphon have to survive for ~10 seconds with no heals. Other damage is going out while this is happening. Player leech helps, but with dps only doing ~2-5k dps, you need a ton of % leech (maybe demon hunter talent or rogue leech poison) to put a dent in that healing absorb.

It's far from unkillable, but I'm just wondering should this spell really be 10x as strong as what it was the week before? Is this intended or just a small mathematical oversight?

I mean it's clearly a bug, but the fight is ridiculously easy even with it.
They should fix mythic Maiden of Vigilance in Tomb of Sargeras first. The shield is double what it was pre-patch, 29% of her health instead of 14.5% before the patch. Basically unkillable for us, with lust and all cds we got the shield down just as half our raid died, I imagine someone out there could probably do it but.

0 kills on warcraft logs of Maiden of Vigilance mythic since the patch.
