Mythic dungeons loot change

Lawl, its RNG ma man. I only did one dungeon, the Siege of Boralus, and got 2 pieces just there.

Lots of people say this, and I'd just like to correct this common misconception.

"RNG" isn't fair. It fundamentally isn't. You can't argue in favor of someone working for weeks and getting nothing while a newbie getting carried gets the reward first try.

Actual fairness is reward proportional to work put in.
This is how your job works. X dollars per Y hours worked. Would you say "lol, RNG is RNG, deal with it" if suddenly your employer paid you on a random chance?

Chances are we can't change the system to anything better. I'm not arguing that. But we need to ditch this "RNG is RNG, deal with it" catchphrase. People aren't asking how RNG works - they are reasonably criticizing it for being a bad concept.

It's an mmo, not a single player rpg. If people had guaranteed loot, people would gear way too fast, get bored and then quit the game...

It does suck though, I agree. but its the nature of the game, so I guess all you can do is hope RNGesus is kind tp you next week :D

Back in the day we used to grind tokens for guaranteed gear, lets not pretend that didn't exist. They'll be doing a similar system for PVP when the next season starts.

The OP's suggestion might be a bit overkill but having some form of guarantee isn't the worst idea.

Bad luck protection is always a good thing. It should be present in every form of RNG (especially freaking archaeology screw that profession grahg).

Again, I'm not necessarily advocating for this change but a system more in line with reward-proportional-to-effort would be the badge system. A boss drops a badge, gear costs 5 or 10, meaning that essentially gear costs 5 or 10 boss kills - not subject to negotiation.

Or in this case, not subject to "I worked for weeks and got nothing while the newly-120 scrub doing half the DPS he should be because he alt tabs to Twitter mid-dungeon got it first try."

Remember, if you want to argue this point about fairness, you are essentially suggesting "two guys work same job, both paid on random chance, one guy gets paid for 6 our of 8 hours worked while the other gets nothing" is fair solely on its "equally random" merit.

Think about that.

Synsha people already have been leaving en masse after getting their 1 piece.

I have done all 10 Mythic Dungeons this week and last week, plus additional Mythic Dungeons after I was saved to help other people.

I have yet to see anyone leave a Mythic run for any reason.

In the 9 pug groups I joined nobody left at any point.
lol, you thought Personal Loot was like socialism? That somehow Master Looter are the selfish capitalist trying to keep you down?

Welcome to RNG. And welcome to reality.

I think RNG with a little bit of choice thrown in would really make people excited to do dungeons.

"You earned a piece of gear! Select the one you want: A B C"

Even if it only gave you partial access to the loot table, it would still be nice. And it would certainly be welcome if, when getting a warforged piece, you could choose the ring that's still heroic level because the warforge is worse than your Mythic piece.
every boss should drop a gear piece no mater what, per person. it can be a random piece from the loot table of course so you may not get what you want but at least you can do something with it. scrap/disenchant/offspec gear etc.

Or if you gonna drop just AP then make it like 400AP or something useful.

Blizzard needs a system for dungeons where one person can't get loot twice until everyone else gets one drop

lol no

Honestly curious why you think that would be a bad system. Prevents rng from taking massive !@#$s on some players[/quote]

The logical thing for the healer or tank to do to maximize gear would be to drop the party after they got their loot then.
