Now that BFA Season 1 is underway, we’ve seen a number of questions about the item levels of various rewards and reward tiers. Here’s an outline of the current item levels you’ll see when you receive rewards from ranked PvP:
  • Tier, Rating, End of Match iLvl, Weekly cache iLvl, Weekly Azerite item iLvl
  • Unranked, 0 – 1399, item level 340, item level 355, item level 355
  • Combatant, 1400 – 1599, item level 350, item level 365, item level 355
  • Challenger, 1600 – 1799, item level 360, item level 370, item level 370
  • Rival, 1800 – 2099, item level 365, item level 375, item level 370
  • Duelist, 2100 – 2399, item level 370, item level 380, item level 385
  • Gladiator, 2400+, item level 375, item level 385, item level 385

Some reminders:
End of match rewards are occasional.
For your weekly Azerite item Conquest turn-in, see Marshal Gabriel in the Salt and Shanty Inn near the Ashvane Docks in Boralus or Xander Silberman at Mugambala in Zandalar.
You’ll loot your weekly cache reward from a chest in that area.
The weekly cache items can Warforge/Titanforge.

Now go strike down your enemies!

There are three ways to get loot while doing PvP:
  • At the end of a match, you will have a chance to acquire an item just like did at the end of a Mythic+ run, with the quality of the item being proportional to your rating.
  • When you win a Rated PvP match or when you complete your first RBG win of the day in order to earn Conquest. Once you earn enough Conquest, you will unlock a piece of gear at certain breakpoints. It starts off at an LFR-level quality and it scales up as you progress. If you invest enough time, you will be guaranteed to unlock the full set.
  • When you fill up a Conquest bar for the week, you will unlock a new weekly reward from a chest near the Dueler's Guild, which is based on the highest bracket you had won at least 1 game in.

How to get your weekly PvP chest/cache

In the previous week (i.e. before the weekly reset):
    1. Cap conquest and turn in the conquest cap quest. Or, earn 500 conquest in a week.
    2. (Optional) The reward scales with your highest rated win in the previous week, so if you want something with an even higher ilevel, win at least 1 rated game while you're above 1400 CR.
    3. Pray the system isn't bugged.

Last week, my friend and I got 375 ilvl rewards out of our pvp chests because of our 2s rating. This week, we only played 3s for the first time and were under the impression our weekly chest would be based on our highest bracket rating. We were incorrect and only received ilvl 355 items.

Ouch.

The weekly chest/cache is based on your highest rated win during the previous week.

If a character of yours doesn't hit the Conquest cap, you won’t miss out. You won’t lose Conquest or the chance to get the Conquest reward for this week. If you wanted to, you could wait three weeks and then accumulate the Conquest for three rewards in one day.
What do I have to do to get a weekly cache? Just cap CP?
I'm guessing these numbers go for RBG's too? Should of atleast mentioned it in the blue post but i'm not complaining, just assuming

When you fill up a Conquest bar for the week, you will unlock a new weekly reward from a chest near the Dueler's Guild, which is based on the highest bracket you had won at least 1 game in.

I guess you might also need to win at least 1 game in one of the rated brackets.

So then no? You have to cap CP and also do at least one rated BG or arena? You have said two contradictory things from quote to quote.

You have to cap conquest and maybe also win at least 1 rated bg/arena.
Is the weekly cache in addition to the conq cap reward listed?

And what is the weekly azerite item?
So why does the reward beside my conquest bar show a weapon with a 280 ilvl for a spec I'm not using?

It's just a placeholder...once you go to turn in, it will scale up to your rating and give you the option of a 1H, 2H, etc for your specs.

Conquest rewards for the first week of the new PvP Season are an item level 345 weapon of your choice from class options. We're working on a fix to display the correct item level.

e.g.

Does this mean there are two separate weekly rewards? One from conquest turn in and one from a chest? Still confused with this system, it needs further explaining.

There is two things yes. The End of Match reward and the Weekly Cache. The Cache is a chest at the two PvP hubs, which can reward Azerite items or non-Azerite items. Since Azerite items are set item levels that cannot Warforge or Titanforge that's why their item levels are listed out.

The table we made is a little misleading as we tried to format it as best as we could on these forums. The weekly reward and the Azerite are the same thing, if the weekly chest contained an Azerite piece that's the ilvl it would be.

So I got my weapon for a quest for capping conquest. Is there another cache I can collect as well? This system is confusing and even the guides don't explain everything in detail.

Agreed. The whole thing seems overly complex with no real solid justification for why it should be this way.

Not to mention the piss poor communication from Blizzard so far this xpac.

Still waiting on an explaition on how to obtain vicous saddles as well.
How are all of you so confused? Theres a weekly cache thats the same as the M+ cache in legion... The higher your rating the better the gear. It will be available tuesday, like the M+ one has been for the last two years...

Its not that complicated. Insulting blizzard because this is confusing is only an insult to your own intelligence.
So I capped my Conquest and my next conquest bar reward is the same item. Will it switch next week to a different one or do I have to earn the same item again?

This is interesting.. maybe it lets you re-do the quest if you have multiple choices based on specs? But either way, next Tuesday will show the next reward, like a Helmet or Chest...
how do these rewards stack up against PvE?

Will top tier PvP players get equal rewards to top tier PvE players?
