Was Zul designed for 6 rogues?

Battle for Azeroth Items and Classes
Every guild killing mythic Zul has used 5 or 6 rogues. Surely this can't be intended?

The four lock requirement for portals on Ghuun seems really poorly designed too. Hopefully locks don't get nerfed solely because our niche is needed. Then casters would have no representation in the top ten at all.
Well, Rogues in that fight are doing 50% of their damage with a passive and breaking the damage meters.

So... yes.
The entire raid was designed for rogues.
Careful judging based on what top guilds do. Its always been this way with a few bosses in every tier.
This is normal for any tier that the top guilds in the world use class stacking for certain bosses by the time that more casual mythic raiding guilds get there we will have a lot more gear to make up for it.

In Antorus for example, top-end guilds used all ranged compositions and with mostly warlocks and shadow priests to kill Mythic Coven, my guild got there months latter and even with a sub-optimal melee heavy comp we did fine.
Naw mate, didn't you hear that different specs now have strengths and weaknesses to avoid class stacking?

>:(
They only need a Spriest on zul too...
Top raiding guild method cheesed the encounter with 5 rogues so now thats what everyone else is gonna do.
If you haven't actually done the fights on Mythic you can't just say "lul people are just copying Method"

Zul is MASSIVELY easier if you can stack up sub rogues. You pretty much have to have 4 warlocks on G'huun to move the orb properly on both sides. Fetid and Mythrax are excessively anti-melee.

There are definitely problems with this raid and it discouraging diverse raid compositions. It's a good raid, but the class stacking in the back half of it is pretty ridiculous how advantageous it is.
Rogues have always been popular because cloak of shadows and feint are just so good for negating mechanics.

Gateway is very useful utility, but only on certain fights. In legion, stampeding roar was very useful for select fights as well, and it got nerfed hard. Hopefully the same thing doesn't happen to gateway.

If there is some way to cheese an encounter then top guilds are going to do it. In 1-2 months when your average 1-2 night mythic guild gets to Zul they won't be able to bring 6 rogues. Plus these guilds will have higher ilvl by the time they get to Zul as well. Method killed him at 365 whereas now guild are around 370 killing him so imagine in a few months, guilds might be 375+.
