Thank you for answering my question. I hope your issue gets addressed in some way soon.

You are very welcome.

I think the problem is that instead of having a Reddit discussion, all they have to do is look at these forums and the numerous questions posed by players, some valid and some silly, and answer those questions on their own forms.

I have noticed that as soon as a blue posts, they are peppered with questions and so next thing you know you're having a discussion in a format that isn't ideal for it. how much worse would it be if a dev did it? After all the demands to have his attention this week, I just wish people could show some appreciation when it happens. You don't have to be rose-tinted glasses, only willing to listen with an open mind. And that's the generic you.
Interested to see how this goes. However, even though they say this isn't a one-off, history shows that it will be utilized as that. They (Blizzard) have acknowledged and vowed to do better several times in the past about lack of communication - yet here we are, with a lack of communication. Of course I have issues with the game and of course there are areas that I love. What is hard for me to tolerate is inconsistent or non-existent follow-through. Following through on things you say (even if it is to say, "we can't" right now) is a basic ingredient to character.
Ion just how do you manage to eat your lunch AND ruin warcraft at the same time?

He can type with his toes.
Someone please ask him why they hate alliance players so much.
Not really. We read Reddit a lot yes but we spend far more time looking at forums posts. Reddit is mainly memes, which we also love but they do have interesting feedback/callouts. Still doesn't detract from how much we use the forums though.

So he chose to host this on WoW's dedicated meme page? Wtf?

Reddit as a platform is far easier to do something like this in, it allows conversations to take place within a conversation due to multiple threads spanning off of one comment. On here, or any traditional forum really, its a jumbled mess.

Maybe you guys could honestly just do a better job of going out of your way to go through your players forum pages and communicate instead of giving an arbitrary reason why you can't use them? Isn't that like the point of having a forum?? Like dude listen to how asinine this sounds.

Questions gonna be pre-screened like most Q&A's?

It's reddit. You can ask whatever you want, given it follows the rules. Whether or not he chooses to answer is up to him.

I think it's just frustration at all the curve balls that's been thrown in game (glitches, sudden changes, etc) and also a feeling people concerns were ignored (or appearing that way) despite much of it being presented constructively (thinking class and features feedback since alpha).

However there was a clamor for communication and feedback and he is stepping up to the plate. This can go one of 2 ways (with lots of little branches in between). He gives clear answers with more definitive information (meaning less we hear you and looking into, and more we hear you and this is our tentative plan) OR he goes softball on us and doesn't answer anything (or very little) or give very obscure answers (hey we are looking at making changes <with no other information such as time frame at the very least>) or worse more fluff and less substance (i.e. typical q&a).

If he does the former and provide clarity on at least the dozen big issues, then I can respect that. Otherwise hes just going to feed the flames. Personally I hope he provides good information cause I actually want the game to do well with less headaches (and just maybe take my feral off the bench).
Let us earn heritage armor by a new rep grind after we unlock the allied race. I'd like to race change & keep my achiev/reps/proff while playing at end game content in bfa. Not go back and lvl for no reason then delete that char cuz I already have all classes except druid class at max lvl.
Whilst I have my reservations about this, I will be following tomorrows reddit thread closely. I have a feeling that the questions we have about the choices that were made this expansion will be met with explanations/clarifications instead of any inkling that things will change.

My own gripes:

-Azerite gear not feeling rewarding. Higher ilvls being a downgrade.
-Sharding splitting up the community & destroying RP realms.
-Island expedition rewards being lackluster, no communication on making the experience better for players even though there has been a lot of feedback: implementation of doubloon reward vendors, for example.
-Bugs/design choices that were heavily scrutinized in beta still making it through.
-Inequality between factions: in terms of the Warfront gear and lack of unique mounts for the Alliance.
-Poor implementation of Warfronts in general. Rare elites only able to be farmed for loot once per cycle means that everyone who missed it the first day struggles to kill them later due to lack of population.
-Certain classes not being fixed having been broken this expansion - example: energy starved, awful aoe feral druids.
-Overpruning of old abilities combined with loss of artifact weap abilities, CD changes, etc as well as mob scaling making play styles feel monotonous.
-Warmode not working well, crucial abilities tied to having warmode on.
-Older allied races still being locked, forcing people to grind old content nobody does anymore for a new feature.

Hopefully either I or someone else will ask (and receive a response) on some of these issues and hopefully it grants the player base perspective and optimism for the direction of the game.

I agree that this could take a nosedive or be helpful. And you are right for some people the lack of communication has been frustrating Totally hoping tomorrow is helpful. :)
He won't answer any "hard" questions, and we all know that. We'll get decent responses to meaningless fluff questions, but anything serious will be met with a vague enough response to satisfy nobody and handwave the issue at the same time.
Hi Ion! Big fan! Cake or Pie?

Hi Ion, BFA is amazing, what was your favorite thing about making it?

Hi Ion, Zappy Boy or Zappy Boi?

Ion, is it true that Zappy Boi is actually one of your alts?

nfortunately, I won't participate. The one and only Q&A I watched with Ion "answering" questions was a total lack of substantial information provided in his "answers." The impression I got was that he was low-balling everything and obfuscating everything...nothing of substance was revealed.

That's because he was a lawyer, it's in their blood to give non-answers when challenged.

Why'd they request it not be stickied?

This is a rather ridiculous request .. It will be copied and pasted all over the internet. All over Twitch and YouTube . It doesn't need to be stickied on Reddit. It will be stickied on the internet . LOL
They can't easily fix a lot of the core issues with BfA, so I'm just going to creep the AMA and eat popcorn.

At this point I'm just hoping for a sacrificial lamb so I can be appeased and crawl right back into hell.
OMG the CMs are actually talking to us again?! I thought for sure they must have all gotten fired or went on vacation or something with how quiet they had been lol

This will be the biggest joke. lol

If people treat it like one, then yes it will be.

If people ask real questions, then they might get real answers. But if the forums are any indication? Real questions will probably be few and far between.

It's an opportunity to bend the ear of someone very influential. And sadly far too many people will use it as a soapbox to be less than stellar examples of society.

People are asking real questions, perhaps most in a very abrasive manner but please don't blame the community for lashing out. I bet if we paid you to answer us you'd jump for joy. The first step in fixing a problem is realizing there is one. Your tone of answering is that of a person who's being brainwashed. People who don't know better would just lash out like they normally do, but please understand a certain amount of the player base is actually smart, If everyone was so obnoxious, rude, and disrespectful in any manner of asking a question, wouldn't answering them clear the air?. You're invoking socialism to avoid the actual question, isn't that ignorance? We should be able to lock your threads when you voice your opinion.
