You got void elves, or did that completely slip your mind?

Got what? Oh, yeah, the Short-end-of-the-stick Elves that no one asked for. No, thanks.

No, you got a compromise. Deal with it. Void Elves are thee most played Allied race. Plenty of people like it.

Seems like you’re just butt-hurt that he said no to alliance high elves in the near future, so now you’re trying to undermine his credibility.

I can't speak for everyone here but I'm not mad because they don't want us to have High Elves. I'm mad because they could avoid this whole mess by just no doing this damn elf trade between factions and completely screwing this trade for one side.

I couldn't care less for playable High Elves before allied races system and this elf swap.

Seriously, if hordies really like Void Elves (or pretend to) you should just ask Blizzard to give them to your faction because I, as an Alliance player, am really really tired of getting half-assed things around here, don't need another one.

Yeah, Void Elves are popular only because people wanna look pretty in game, just for that. If you really think Void Elves were not a stupid idea and were well introduced, sorry but you're really blind or are ignoring facts on purpose.

You’re putting words in my mouth. I didn’t even mention void elves in my post. I was calling out Alurna for her moronic comment in which she basically implied that she can somehow read minds and knows what Ion thinks.

If you must know, I originally wanted high elves for the alliance and thought that void elves didn’t make a whole lot of sense.

That being said, once Ion said that high elves were not coming to the alliance in the near future, I accepted what he said. I also took his advise of “if you want to play a blonde, fair skinned elf, the horde is waiting for you” and race changed my main back to a blood elf.

I understand that some people might not be happy with what he said about high elves, and are not willing to play a blood elf or void elf. That’s fine, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, it’s frustrating to see a bunch of ya’ll making unsubstantiated claims about “horde bias” or pretending to know what the game director thinks.

He leads the game... oversees people who implement every single facet into the game. He doesn't need to play both sides to know wtf is going into his own game lol. And "Horde Pals?" Please don't tell me you are one of those nutjobs that believes there is an actual faction bias in this game?

Honestly? There's a Horde Bias, the majority of Developers are quite willing to admit they like the Horde, the play Horde, etc...

I never believed that said bias ever actually leaked it's way into the game's development, but looking at the Alliance's Allied Races versus the Horde's, one has to conclude either said bias IS indeed leaking into development, or the Developers are seriously out of touch with the Alliance half of their playerbase.

Come on, now. There's no bias.

I mean sure Horde asked for upright Orcs and got 'em .... Golden eyes for Blood Elves and got 'em .... and sure their racials are stronger ... and instead of making up a race like Alliance got in Void Elves (or could be getting in Mechagnomes) they flipped to an alternate reality to give them Orcs with tons of customization options that other allied races don't have ..... oh and Horde wanted upright Trolls so they're getting them too ....

Bias, shmias.
The anti’s wouldn’t know what to do with themselves if it weren’t for these HE threads....

If it will break the game, please explain how.

If Void elves were the compromise, please state and provide your source from Blizzard.

If the definitively said “no” give me a source.

I can’t say for certain that they are overly bias for Horde, it’s in the eye of the beholder. You guys got Mag’har orcs after asking for them, you got golden eyes for blood elves, you got straight back orcs, and you got straight back Trolls. Alliance is getting dark eyes for NEs after asking for gold and silver options for how long? It’s all preception though, I think we got the better deal with Kultiras zones and we don’t lose leaders like flies.

If blizzard doesn’t announce HEs at Blizzcon they may not happen, but that doesn’t mean this topic will ever end.

Sorry, I wasn't talking about you, just used your point to express how I'm feeling about this.

I was talking about those who say "uh, you got your compromise, deal with it". No, I will not deal with it, I will not accept a lazy job when i'm paying for this.

My point is that Blizzard themselves made this whole mess, there were no massive requests for High Elves before this. They made the problem and made their own "compromise".

There was no need for a "compromise" if there was no problem.

So I'm gonna separate this down:

1) What allied race did you think the orcs were getting? Based upon that allied races are based from an ambassador from each class.

2) it's been 10 years since they restored the Sunwell. It was bound to happen.

3) Because if the straight back orc model was only going to be an allied race, people would have been mad as hell.

4) Same thing as above just replace with trolls and Zandalari.

If I remember correctly wasn't there a high elf boss in the nexus dungeon in Northrend that had a backstory of when she was Kael'thas's teacher and she was upset for Kael to betray the Kirin Tor?

It shows that only High Elves that have changed are the Blood Elves and Kael'thas's forces while rest still remain Quel'dorei within the Kirin Tor, Still living with their old allies like Humans and Dwarves in Stormwind and some ledges in the Alliance Areas and etc.

I think Grand Magus Telestra (the teacher) was a bit of a solo act in terms of the race conflict going on. She did not approve of Kael working with the naga, not that he betrayed the Kirin Tor, but at the same time she's not happy that Dalaran imprisoned her people because of Garithos, so she joined Malygos to take down the city in revenge I guess.

Perhaps the Kirin Tor at the time didn't had any good leaders when Garithos was in charge. If that's the case then where were rest of the Kirin Tor when Dalaran was destroyed. Were they in Stormwind or somewhere else? By that iogic why didn't the High Elves go back to Silvermoon if others like the Silver Convenant and High Elf Magas stayed with the Kirin Tor Faction after what happened to their people being imprisoned like Kael and others?
Friendly reminder to everyone who hates the idea of Alliance High Elves: You can buy Reign of Chaos and TFT in Blizzard’s e-shop today and see for yourself that there was absolutely no justification for Silvermoon’s story to be continued anywhere but the Alliance. If you can play the old games today and honestly continue saying Blood/High Elves belong with the Horde then there’s no helping you.

So if they got their maghar orcs after being HIGHLY requested then why did we not get HIgh Elves Which are Highly requested??

Alliance gets things that are pulled out of left field but why does the horde get most of its requests??

Obviously they think for whatever reason that i do not presume to know, that High Elves were a bad idea. So they said how can we give them what they want, which is a fair skinned blonde blue eyed elf. Well we can't without ________ reasons. So lets give them the High Elf model/body with a few tweaks. Only the most fringe would be upset. So they minimized the damage and Void Elves currently sit as thee most played allied race. You are gonna have to deal with it or lose your sanity screaming into the void as you sit in Stormwind or goldshire. So yea, deal with it because the majority of the Alliance is.

You are living in the past. This is the now. Blizzard draws upon the path to continue new storylines and use characters. Thats what they did in BC, i'm sorry you didnt like it but you can't please everyone as evidenced here. i don't give a rats flying rear if it was because of an asian poll that we got the elves. It happened, it wont reverse, and now you are asking to clone this race, this idea and plop it alliance side because they were with Stormwind in games 20 years ago.

He thinks if we want to play a "tall" majestic elf we can just reroll to Horde. He also thinks that Quel'dorei as a faction, and then as a model would "blur" the lines between the two factions. But he doesn't think that happened with Nighborne. I know this because there's an elfing VIDEO of him saying it.

Maybe you're the one playing pretend.

Genuinely: Why do you play Warcraft if you aren't concerned with its storyline? I'm not one of those people who thinks the game is bad, but the main draw here is definitely the Warcraft lore that surrounds gameplay rather than the gameplay itself.
Just let them have their High Elves. It's not gonna hurt anyone if they're playable, so what's the big deal?

WoW for one is way more than Lore. The dev team make the lore. The Lore is not what you THINK it should be. It's what is written on a daily basis. You cannot go back and change history. Just because you disagree the reasons Blood Elves went horde doesn;t make you right. It does not make you right. All you can offer is an opinon. the devs by default are right. they make the game you simply play it and your 15$ a month does not entitle you a say in their decisions. You can offer feedback but you do not make the decisions. Now, since Belves are a 14 yo decision, you cant change it. I love WoW lore btw. I like the Old Gods stuff especially.

Before i forget, on the topic of things i disagree with, Saurfang: Him 1. trying to commit suicide. 2. disobeying the Warchief and 3. Having Sylvanas go garrosh 2.0.

I HATE whats going on but i can't change it. Only offer my feedback. They are gonna do what they are gonna do and i simply have to deal with it. When 8.1 happens and i betray Sylvanas i do it because i want to further my guys storyline and access more of the game. I still want to see Baine or Saurfang as Chief and i hope that the story the devs tell is shared by me.

If you aren't enjoying the story then i ask you the same question: Why are you here? WHy are you paying and why do you play?

I have to ask why is everyone so angry at one group who probably won’t get this anyway. What’s wrong with wishful thinking.... it a game some of y’all take it to heart so much.

I ask because I would love to see it implemented. Now can we all get along and just hope Blizzard continues to make the game for a while? We all obviously are passionate about WoW and the divide in the playerbase sucks.... it’s not good, because this community keeps the game running, and when other drive each other out we all lose.

I only half agree with this tbh.

I think that the Blood Elf storyline in TFT was less about aligning them with the Horde and more about distancing themselves from the Alliance. Now, some behind the scenes stuff explains that the teams for Warcraft and WoW weren't very good at communicating between one another, but at the same time I think the TFT Blood Elf campaign was about explaining the absence of High Elves in the Alliance at the launch of Vanilla, because by that point the starting races for Alliance and Horde had clearly been hammered out (see Sylvanas' half of the Undead campaign where she creates the Forsaken and establishes her territory)

I think, more than anything, the Blood Elf campaign was about addressing the inevitable flood of player questions in Vanilla asking about where all the High Elves were and what happened to them after Silvermoon fell. I think the decision to make them Horde came later, and we see evidence of that in some of the....pretty contrived questing and story lines used to justify the Blood Elves joining the Horde back in TBC. (The whole 'Night Elf and Dwarves are spying on us, but we can totally trust these apparently free-willed undead because one of them used to be one of us' thing was pretty weak justification - if anything the Blood Elves didn't really have good reason to trust or want to cooperate with anyone at the start of TBC, but I digress)

That being said, it's also important to note that despite that decision, TBC wasted no time in establishing that the Blood Elves were not a united community by introducing High Elves as a concept, but also by making Kael'thas turn against his own people.

Hell, after the restoration of the Sunwell they could have easily written High Elves to rejoin the Blood Elves if they wanted. But again, they chose not only to emphasise the divide between High and Blood Elves, but broaden it into genuine, deep animosity in WotLK. And that's continued and deepened through every expansion since (except WoD IIRC). I mean, hell, in Legion, the whole 'Elves against Elves' thing with Suramar - if they wanted to downplay the significance of High Elves, why treat them as a separate group? Why have them participate in the attack on Suramar? Why have Vereesa involved with the Hunter story line, or narrating World quests, or having Ellisande refer to them directly as a distinct group?

I think it's worth asking that if High and Blood Elves are so similar as some people seem to suggest....why do Blizzard keep going to lengths to highlight that they are different?
...Right then, we'll get Draco'dorei. Dragons that combined their essence with High Elves so that neither race will go extinct. They have the exact same customization options as Blood Elves, but with horns.https://d1u5p3l4wpay3k.cloudfront.net/wowpedia/thumb/7/77/Azuregos_high_elf.jpg/300px-Azuregos_high_elf.jpg?version=af70891b2bf1213d0c1431ca40b2a571There we go. Prettier, and new. We haven't had Dragon Elves before, after all.Or you know... we could avoid further lore abominations (like Void Elves or Blood Elves going Horde), and just add High Elves to the Alliance with some different classes and different hair styles/colors and skin colors, with tattoos.Or...you could just accept the fact that playable High Elves aren't gonna happen and move on to other things.Orrrrrrrrr... you could accept that we will never stop asking for High Elves
yall will never stop asking for playable high elves and blizzard will keep saying no and ignoring yall because you wont stop.
