Ion works for the money, not for you.

General Discussion
This is the truth that you need to accept.

You are playing a capitalist game, not a game made for you.
When you accept this truth, then you understand that Ion is doing a good job, because his job is not to make you happy, his job is keeping the biggest ammount of people subbed to the game for the longest possible time. Nothing less, nothing more.

Everything in this game is designed to "take time", to give the illusion of "progression", to invest in increase all of your character's numbers 1 by 1. And they have accomplished it, more and more with each new expansion.

When you speak of a story making sense or the game being balance towards you, or they listening to your feedback, you are forgetting what kind of game you are in.

This game is about making money. And we are its employees.
I didn't realize making players unhappy, which leads them to unsub, made him more money.
We are the money. He works for us.
Is it bad that when my friend came to me excited about going to Blizzcon for the first time, my first question was "Can you crop dust Ion for me?"
That would be true if the metric was still subs and sub money. The new metric to which Blizzard operates is "how long can we keep people online, per session, per week."
When you work at a game company it isnt usually for the money. As he could proably make more money as a lawyer or just about any of the IT people could make boat loads more money in a non gaming field and have better life balance.

More often than not people that work in the gaming field tend to actually love the creative and gaming aspect more than money.
Short term yes, but its not good for the long term when they don't have any players left. All those horrible decisions are just adding to the bubble that's about to burst.

And he can't possibly make every single WoW subscriber happy. Believe it or not, people all have their own opinions. People have their own ideas of what is fun and interesting or drab and boring. Even when these forums look like a total dumpster fire that doesn't mean there aren't many subscribers out there, who don't even visit the forums, that are enjoying the game.

Ion doesn't work for you, specifically. He doesn't work for me. He works for all the WoW players and they all have different expectations or ideas. He can't possibly make them all happy. There will always be complaints (a great deal of them) here on the forums and Twitter and the comments section of Youtube videos or whatever.
I will give you all the best argument: You all are unhappy and still playing the game. In capitalism everyone is miserable but we all still go out of the bed early to work for someone else. Ion doesn't care about the players that want to dictate the game. They only want the players that will acept what is delivered and be silent about it.
Lol I can't believe some of you really believe he works for us. We are customers that doesn't mean in any degree that he works for us. You people believe you have power because you give away your money, wake up.
He works for money yes, but that money comes from those who play the game. It doesn't magically appear like...socialists...would have you believe.
Ion works hard for the money.

So hard for it, honey.

So you better treat him right.
But whose paying them money....oh its you :)
Not sure you understand how a capitalist system actually works.

Actually it’s MAU’s, or Monthly Active Users now. All they care about is if you log into the game once a month.
I'm not sure this forums rules on all caps but...STOP GIVING THEM YOUR MONEY!!!! Seriously you want a direct line to Ion there it is. Just stop giving him money. Ignore Wow and go play something else. Come back (or don't) when they've made the game more fun. They don't deserve your money because they are bad at their jobs.

I too forgot he was working at a small indie company and doesn't make as much as lawyers or IT.

Yet, here you are.
You are missing the point, they could easily do both. Balanced classes for example is not that hard of a thing to do and give them identity.

In other words you are implying he is focusing on one part of his job and not all of it which is also making a fun game that keeps subscribers.

However, the truth you speak is that there is no real character progression and it is all about the repeated grind. Basically each new expansion is nothing more than a start over.
Ion. I payed you $15 this month.

Why aren't you working 90 hours a week and using whips on your team and not sleeping until I get precisely the thing I've nebulously described with forum rants.
