Blizzard Charge for addons

Classic Discussion
Why not charge a nominal fee of $2 an add-on, it is all purchased through the blizzard store and can be a revenue stream to avoid a further subscription cost to Classic beyond retail.

At the end of each year you have to re-buy the add-ons you want.

Also helps control the number of add-ons which can take away the authentic feel of Classic.
Pay-to-win. Seems like a great addition to Classic.
#NoAddons
Do you work for EA? You actually think this is right?
Addons have always been part of WoW. - They will be part of Classic.

Addons have always been free. - They will be free in Classic.

Have a nice day.
Obvious troll thread.
I'd rather pay a sub.
You do realize vanilla had lots of add-ons back in the day right?
Add-ons have been a part ofWoW from day one. Go away.
Now we're talking!
Y'know something, folks? Ever since Blizzard put these forums up, there has been a constant flow of people who want us to spend more money on this game. Some of the methods they come up with HAVE TO come from a Blizzard employee trying to figure out a way to get a bigger paycheck. The one thing all of them have in common is they're trying to get me to part with MORE of my money for hair-brained ideas that they think are brilliant.

I wouldn't be surprised if they go to Target or Macy's or Walmart, find something they want that has a price tag of $14.99 and tell the sales person, "No, I'm not going to buy it for $14.99, but if you raise the price to $35.99 I'll buy two of them."

/facepalm
They are 100% going to allow addons... they were a part of the game pretty much from a month after launch... oh and they'll be free because changing for addons is a psycho move. Also something EA would probably do.
I was lambasted for suggesting phasing in starting zones a few months ago but now people are accepting it.

It is a good idea for a few reasons, the first being quality control for that classic experience, secondly it means you could play the game without paying depending on the model Blizzard adopts.

Advice....don't go into marketing.
Ya'll need to get over it. Addons were a thing in Vanilla and they will be a thing in Classic.
See this sort of s**t is why I'm a socialist.
There have been many bad and frankly stupid ideas presented on this forum, and I do mean many. So trust me when I tell you how inconceivable it is that you have far and away just presented the worst example of a bad and stupid idea. Congratulations?

You seem childish if you think classic will be free. This is a way for blizzard to make money, have it as a choice for the user to pay and ensures quality control.
lets see - just off the top of my head of addons i had in vanilla
a swing timer
atlas
a threat meter
a damage meter
pally power

and i'm sure im forgetting some.
good luck enforcing it.
