A Dissatisfied Playerbase

General Discussion
Is always a thing to some extent, but at this point we're already reaching WoD levels of displeasure and we're only a few months into BfA. I think most players still do love WoW and want the game to succeed, but at the same time, have no problem hopping onto the hater bandwagon and enjoy seeing the game crash and burn.

My personal opinion for why players are doing this, is that they feel the devs have turned against them. That they are deliberately creating a less than optimal gaming experience in order to maximize revenue and playtime.

Certainly we can't ignore that Blizzard isn't a charity organization. They are a business designed to make money after all, but when it gets to the point that the customers feel disregarded, that's when it backfires.

That is exactly why successful businesses place a lot of importance on customer relations. Even though money is the end goal, it's important for the customer to feel that they are being appreciated and their concerns are being heard(whether you like them or not).

So when the playerbase is vocal on topics such as RNG, ability pruning, timegated content, flying, and the needless removal of lore content such as past expansion questlines, but then the devs carry on with their plans regardless, that builds frustration within the community.

With the announcement of Blizzard's shift towards the mobile market, players feel even more disconnected from the company, as though there were a huge gap between the direction of game development and what the players actually want for their games.

Eventually, one side has to give. Either the devs bring focus back to the players, or the players find a new company to buy games from.

Personally, I still have faith in Blizzard and I'm guessing, along with patch 8.1, big changes and/or announcements are coming soon to try and bounce WoW back to its former glory. I just hope it's not too late, as much of the playerbase has been alienated already.
Okay in straight seriousness here.. "WoD levels"?

Do we even agree on if that's good or bad? That we hate WoD or don't?
It's because most of their best devs have been working on Moblie game. BFA is literally a reskinned and retooled legion gameplay wise.

WQ? Same. Progression? Same. Leveling? Same. Crafting? Same. Pathfinder? Same.
GD doesn't represent the playerbase.

Many of their best devs, many and most have very different meanings. Especially in this context.

A company like Blizzard can(and does) have multiple teams filled with great devs.
Maybe if they stopped appealing to the male fantasy, the game would be in a better place

So female fantasy like She-Ra on Netflix would be better?

Pretty much this. Nothing really changed outside of the story. Heck they were too poor to add in a 120 talent tree because of Azerite Armor.

As long they bring in Vulpera, Sethrak the Nagas with legs, and that other horde neutral faction. That can be reassuring to some extent, but man it would be nice if they actually start making this game feel like a real mmorpg.

The story is even a reskin of Mists of Pandaria.

Maybe Netease been the one behind the gameplay in an effort to take over Blizzard or a merger. Netease is a pretty huge company in china and buying it up or partnering up for stupid money seems to be the way to go.

This ^

Go make new friends, horde leader turns sinister, Alliance gets mad about it, horde turn against their leader, other foes vanquished, new horde leader, the end

You would think this is a no brainer but alas...
Its an Activision game, not a Blizzard game.

Pretty pretty pretty, pay to win, gameplay that falls off a cliff after about 40 hours (note: almost no professional reviewers play games more than 40 hours), shameless skimping on immersive gameplay.

Unsub and help drive Blizzard's value so low that they sell it off to a developer with heart/talent.

Pay-to-win? And I have certainly played more than 40 hours.

Have you unsubbed yet Drkenypowers?
