How do they not understand?

Classic Discussion
How do they not understand that if the game is not as it was in vanilla then the game will be DOA? Sharding/phasing=DOA. How do they not understand that the people that wanted Classic the most will just go back to their private servers if the game isn’t as it was? Are they that incompetent that they seriously don’t grasp what people have been asking for for years?? All people wanted was to play like they play on their private servers but with Blizzard support and less bugs. They had one job and this demo is so concerning that I really believe they don’t have a clue.
Easiest thing in the world...release it as it was.

Can't even do that right...or so it appears.

Classic Panel hopefully will actually answer questions.
activisions blizzards ctrl + p , ctrl + v doesn't work
*Sigh* This isn't even beta guys. You know what they did for the demo? They pushed the stuff they had changed, then backfilled what hasn't been changed yet with retail stuff. They did it to show you its coming along. They never promised this would be a retail ready demo. Your expectations are off, that's not their fault.
Don't use the beta excuses. The game should literally be a carbon copy of the old game that you get from a !@#$ing install disc. but they can't even do that right now.

Or the definition of a demo has drastically changed.

Outside of this wow classic "demo", a demo is a snapshot of the game so you can get a feel for the game and decide whether or not you want to buy it.

wow classic is not a "demo" by that definition.
It's more like pre-alpha prototype code.

Lol... "DOA"!
ActiBlizz doesn't want a pure Vanilla recreation to succeed because it would prove how terrible the current game is.
Imagine being so clueless and raging over a DEMO. You chumps should just go back to Kronos/Elysium/LH for that "custom" vanilla experience.

No.

First, you know damn well Blizz wouldn't be ready this far out. You're being intellectually dishonest about that.

Second, Blizzard was VERY, VERY CLEAR about what this demo was.
The whole point of wanting a classic experience was to avoid crap like this. Either the elementary is beyond their grasp or "go for the $$$" is their default position on everything. Either way its not a good start.

I don't know about DOA but I don't see anything that's taking purists away from solid private servers.

Maybe we are to blame for letting it be known we would give them money in exchange for the privilege - except its gonna be their way not the right way.

Right. And that's why we get told that sharding is staying in and that they'll be looking at how to implement stuff down the road to keep the servers feeling full.

You underestimate their secret weapon.

Everybody who is subbed has classic, which means their main squeeze has something to do during their downtime.

Classic is guaranteed to be successful even if none of the private server advocates played.
