My guild is my WoW family.
So ... given the constraints listed in the OP.

Which of your guild members are your spouse, your concubines and your kids?

My guess is the co-GM or raid leader is the spouse, officers are the concubines, everyone else are the kids.
Where are our parents?

Are our parents dead? D:
10 concubines? Sounds like 9 times too much whining.
Dude, I'm kinda dead, don't think a family is possible.

Semper Fi!
So, by concubines you really mean "cult"....

Or possibly a Goblin version of Hugh.
11 consorts and 11 babies. #polyandry

You can create:

*A maximum of 1 (one) Husband or Wife;

*A maximum of 10 (ten) Concubines;

*A maximum of 20 (twenty) Children;

Create your family within those constraints.
Don't give my wife any ideas, she's already back to trying for this kind of thing again! Sometimes I wish I was on WrA or back on Ravenholdt.
Me: Worgen Hunter
Wife: Her NE Hunter
Conubines: Her Draenei Shaman, her Worgen Rogue and Mage, A LFD Paladin, a VE of some sort, more alts to come if she feels like it. Also since she prefers women, so do they.

Kids: One girl, worgen druid (our RL Kid's), more to come.

My family would be like a undead version of the Addams family:

* Gomez 'Patchwerk' Addams

* 1 Undead Blood Prince for a play thing

* 2 Ghost kids named Pugsley (Festergut) and Wednesday (Rotface)
Just a husband or wife would be nice to keep me company in my adventures. :)

Is it okay to send your own children off to do skirmishes, build their own fortresses, and claim their territory to rule over once they reach the age of two?

If so, I fully support this concept.

If it was up to me, there would be no factions.

Then it would just be "World of Craft", and considering most of the crafting professions are geared towards enhancements to war gear there would be precious little left to do.

Wait...maybe it would be an MMORPG about craft beer!
We the players dont get real presence in the story. Best we can do is create our own rp and enjoy it. I personally have 15 plus toons between two factions.

Made a ruff rp for them and they all have romances with each other. They all left both factions at some point or another.

In Legion they all meant up and formed a sudo avengers team working to defend azeroth from all threats.

Go go narru stealth ship and reconfigured legion ships and space stations.

To hell with the lame faction war.
One 'husband,' and no children.

This character spent the last entirety of wow only caring about vengeance against the Legion, had a lover before his Scourgification, who became a death Knight.

They hang out and fight alongside each other but, any semblence of 'love' has long since died in both of them. It's only the memory of love that keeps them sentimental. They're basically grim, stoic comrades at this point.

Now that the Legion is defeated this character has been, like, well what do I do now? Maybe there's something more in store in the future (but probably not)

Orcish wife.

Ten concubines: mixture of draenei, goblins, and 1 pandaren

At least 1 child from each of them... maybe several from the wife.
Twist: your family is the new World quest hub for future expansions.
