The races the require Legion reputation should have been made available without having to purchase BfA. Then there would be none of this "old content" whining. They would be solidly linked to "old content" and have nothing to do with BfA.

I personally think it was someone in marketing that decided to make them available only to players who purchased BfA.

That said, the OP is way wrong to want to pay cash for these. With the exception of a few pets and mounts (many of which have in-game equivalent skins) and those helmets, everything in WoW can be had simply by playing the game. You don't need to pay anything beyond your subscription fee (and many players use tokens to pay for that as well).

People who don't like playing the game need to find a different game.

I mean...the French meat pie always tastes better when my mother makes it. I can't get the meat/potato consistency right to save my life.

Are you using genuine French meat, or French-Canadian meat? :P

Very cute, but it still sounds funny to say "I like to work when playing my video game"

It would sound better to say, "I'd rather be working on leveling my character" than to say, "I like to work on grinding rep to unlock a playable character that came with the purchase of a $60 expansion with a $15 a month sub fee"
I am totally against this. As an achievement, it's possible for anyone to earn the unlock with some commitment. It also flies in the face of the very point of the repgate. You are trying to enlist assistance for your faction's war effort. You do this by trying to gain a reputation with them.

As a store item, you have to buy it and thus that devalues the race to that of a thing.
I personally don't like the rep gates just to play an alt.

I guess an upside is next patch should speed up the Legion race unlocks, but I don't know exactly what they're changing.
