Because that's so much better than, you know, reducing the cost to reforge a bit.

Or just removing the whole "run to town and pay for a respec" mechanic that was removed 10 years ago and didn't need to be brought back.

If they want to bring back a mechanic we liked, why not bring back flying without an epic "the insane" title level grind? Why the stupid "run to town and pay to respec before you can switch roles" that was removed so that switching on the fly was easier and smoother. Instead they keep taking away things we like and are re-adding the things we didn't. It's like they want to make the game everything we disliked about old wow without the parts we liked from it...
Just another day in the life of Beta for Azeroth where things continue to go on like business as usual, while the community is ignored by the developers.
360.25E/362.43B - 355 Offered.

I bet my emissary reward is for the slot I don't need.

Azerite Armor caches scale based on the highest item level soulbound gear you've picked up for each slot (even if you don't have the item any more). It doesn't have to be equipped or kept in your bags.

It appears that this afternoon forward, for the emissary caches awarding azerite gear, your character's ilevel will determine the reward and the napkin math thresholds would appear to be:

363 for 370+
348 for 355+
333 for 340+
318 for 325+
303 for 310+

Please post if this is not your experience this afternoon (1 pm pacific / 2 pm mountain / 3 pm central / 4 pm eastern) and going forward.

Why, oh why, does this have to be so &#*!@ complicated? And on top of that, it STILL seems broken.

...

I didn't think of taking pictures. I just assumed it would be 355 until I turned it in (I checked the quest moments before turning it in).

I believe you. I was giving you a hard time. I wish I had thought to change spec and logging out and back in to see if that would work.

I have a pally at 349 ilvl with a 355 cache that I haven’t completed yet. I will try changing specs once I get home to see if my cache changes. If I switch to protection which has my worst gear, maybe my cache will go to 340. I will do this for science. :)
And if something changes, I will report back.

I believe my pally is 349 as well, I had a 340 cache. It may have been 346, can't remember.

I just can't make any sense out of what qualifies for a higher level drop.
sorry at work. what emissary chest are yiu speaking of? the weekly chest?

Then this confirm that the current system is bugged.

So I would wait to turn it in and put in a ticket if you already have and reference the above tweet.
365 -> 355 cache

Friend has 367 -> 370 cache

Yet again, Blizzard has flubbed this one.
365 equip 368 bags offered a 355 lel stupid bliz
So in theory

If your highest item level equipped for each slot is for example.

Head 300
Chest 370
Shoulders 355

And the cache says 355 you know your getting shoulders ! Or 300 your getting a helm! Before you even opened it. lol cmon blizzard surely this is not how it works..

Edit for spelling

Is this item history visible? I have no idea what my highest item level for each slot has ever been.

As of 5 minutes ago, 348 was still offering 340 gear. I managed to upgrade a ring to get me to 349, which bumped the Emmy to 355. It's possible I was something like 347.8 as far as the calculation is concerned though.
So if the reward system for azerite gear from emissaries works based on the ilvl of a specific azerite slot, that also indicates that the rewards are predetermined before we actually turn in the quest. So whats the point of obfuscating the azerite gear with the illusion of it being random from a cache?

I am still seeing 355 at 367.

Classic Blizzard making this !@#$ a mystery.
Beta for Azeroth Strikes Again!
Hello I am wearing 365 right now. Why should I be getting a 355 cache and not a 370 one? I'm completely lost on this logic.
368 - 355 reward

348 for 355+

Seems right, 350 average, received 355 shoulders.
