Article Explains Why No Communication

Classic Discussion
So this is why we aren't getting updates, communication, customer service, etc, that Blizzard has provided in the past:

A youtuber actually breaks it down here for analysis:

What an absurd joke. If this is going to be a successful game in ~8 months, we need the communication to be open, flowing back and forth, as it was in 2004-2006. Telling yourself otherwise is a lie. There's absolutely no reason third parties should be filters between Blizzard and the Players/Customers.

Gamers did it to themselves.

If these streamers didn't have 50K following them do you think Blizzard would give a crap ?

So now your streamers have the attention and ear of Blizzard.
They get to give direct feedback and influence future game design/content.

So many today are so locked into social media that 75% of companies actually hire people as brand influencers on social media.

Game companies don't have to..they get them for free.
Lol, you're kidding right?

Were you ON the forums back in the day? There's about as much communication now as there was back then.
quick WOTF out of that polymorph!

Seems totally reasonable and unbiased.
This is what many have suspected all along. Why can't Activison/Blizzard just speak to the player base publicly and directly?

What a disgrace.
And a valid question to ask is, if the streamers end up relying on the pseudo-sponsorship of the game company, then who really is leading who? Do the streamers represent the gamers, and will petition their issues with the company? Or are they going to devolve into unofficial 3rd party spokesmans, who never genuinely hold the company accountable?
What level of inception is this post? 3rd ? 4th ?

An influencer, reading about influnecers and the effect of other influencers have on inflencing people.
Just wait..betcha all those streamers get classic beta invites.
If people actually thought for themselves, then this wouldn't be an issue.
And here I thought it was because its been less than a week since they got a ton of feedback and they might need more that just 2 days to sort all that see whats possible and make some decisions before they have more to say. I mean what 4 hrs of Q+A in the last 2 weeks for something in pre alpha wasn't enough?

An entire industry is based around "influencers" now.
Technology and how people use it create new jobs all the time.

Forbes is unbiased and says the same thing.
Influencer update just concentrates on that area and interviews various companies on how they use it.

Blizzard has never been good at communication but it has only gotten worse as the years went on. "MVPs" and "Influencers" are not the answer. Suck ups who don't bring up a single legit concern of the playerbase to the devs leads to disaster. For example Diablow Immoral could have been prevented if Blizzard had only taken a quick survey of the playerbase first on the forums.

The solution is to listen to your players, your fans. Not to hide away in an ivory tower guarded by your "influencer" sycophants.

Jesus Christ those people are some of the worst circle jerkers on the entire Internet, and that's quite a high bar to pass. I'm pretty sure tech companies just encourage their narcissism so they can be exploited for free PR, with a degree of deniability because they aren't officially employees (like how companies such as Uber use "contractors" to avoid labor laws).
Blizzard... oh i mean.. Activision...
Cares about money.
This is why they are making mobile games. They don't care about what ppl think. They care about MONEY.

Disney doesn't care about Star Wars fans.. they care about MONEY..

CBS doesn't care about Star Trek fans. They care about MONEY.

This is reality. Everything you ever loved will get destroyed because companies want MONEY.

I was and can remember and name multiple CMs from 14 years ago. The communicated often and with concrete information, if not a simple “hey, cool, we’ll take that to the higher ups”.

Once the game or a patch was live, but they were pretty quiet in between.

Doesn't mean they're not getting the info (which they specifically said before) just not actively speaking.
