Yeah, there were hundreds of threads about it.

Oh wait, no, no there wasn't.

Why are you so obsessed with the Alliance OP?

Cause of them THICC Draenei buns

High Elves aren't Horde.

Do you actually read the quest logs or follow the story.....omg I finally figured out why the Horde defend BfA so much it's because they don't actually play the game.

Yes they are horde. The vast majority of high elves left the alliance after WC2. During the events of WC3 they changed their name to Blood Elves. In BC the Blood Elves joined to horde. That made High Elves a horde race. You are confusing a small political faction for the race.

The only elf races you have are blood elves and nightborne.

Blood Elves are High Elves...

How dare we not want fat humans and robot gnomes!!! /gasp

You don't want robot gnomes? Like the best race ever made in the history of everything.

Lol it was literally just a trolling to make Horde players mad, no one wanted actual retarded orcs here.

High Elves are already a faction within the Alliance, it's not hard to understand.

Exactly, so they don't need to be an allied race. The whole point of Allied Races is that you get to play as a race that, you know, are going to be forming an allegiance with a faction. High Elves are part of the Alliance already, there's no allegiance to be made.

There's plenty examples of races being on the Horde or Alliance that aren't playable, high elves fall into that category of being on Alliance but not playable.

Please look up Dark Iron dwarves :)

What they mean is, the blood elves do not call themselves high elves, whereas the silver covenant do call themselves high elves, even though they are racially, all high elves. and as one of the "high elf" proponents put it, there is nothing particularly "high" about high elves, since it means noble birth and current elves who call themselves high elves (silver covenant for example) don't racially fit that role as much due to mingling increasingly with humans. thus it's more applicable to simply call them elves, rather than high elves. but since they dont call themselves simply elves but high elves, can't do that either.

blood elves are high elves who no longer call themselves high elves and don't want to. high elves are high elves who do call themselves high elves and want to but are honestly just elves.
I'd take Dryads over any. But that's just me.

Also I am not aware of this "lightforged undead" idea.

It's better that you don't ask too many questions. It's a dumb idea.

With getting Horde races?

From High Elves to Lightforged Undead. And then when they try and give them races that are actually Alliance like Kul’tiran humans and Mecha Gnomes, they claim Horde bias.

High Elves are already an Alliance race, even an Allied Race. The problem is the Alliance keeps getting asspull ideas that nobody asked for or wanted.
I don't want High elves but every anti high elf horde argument is pretty easily broken with the existence of Void elves.

"Buh muh model!" Void Elves already brought it.

"Buh they are small in number!" Void Elves are even smaller (and at this point with everything we've seen, I wouldn't say Blood elves are much higher either)

"Buh Blud elfs ar high elfs!" Void Elves are Blood elves, your point?

90% of the High Elves became known as Blood Elves. Therefore the Alliance is just all twisted up in their underwear over the fact that the bulk of the High Elves are part of the Horde and the average Alliance player, who is working with a 12 year old mentality, is throwing a fit over such.

Or is just that we want to play as that 10% who is alliance -Honestly maybe less than 10% cause Dalaran has neutral HE- who is still already larger than whatever % Void Elves are lol.

Which again is just a political faction of the High Elf race and not an actual race. The lore flat out says that Blood elves are High Elves who changed their name.

Thank you! We are just using names to call different groups of people. There's just not another name to call "High Elves" anymore, because as Elisande put it, they are far from being "Children of Noble Birth" at this point.

They are just Elves of Thalassian origin on the alliance.

i heard ion describe it thusly (paraphrased): the high elves you see in game are just a device to flll npc spots and dont actually exist in the lore. the only ones that exist are main characters like veressa and alleria and any of their offspring (which are mostly half elves). that's my attempt at understanding his rationale.

I'm sure there was like 1 or 2 people asking for Maghar on the Alliance so that means EVERYONE OF THE ALLIANCE WANTED THEM BECAUSE WE ARE THE HIVE MIND.

Until this expansion the Kul Tirans were regular humans. They're also still just humans even if they look different. Even Mag'har orcs are quite similar to regular orcs. So obviously, existing races can be Allied Races anyway.

correct, because they no longer wished to be called high elves. but incorrect that the silver covenant high elves aren't a race. they are high elves in name but not necessarily in genetics, depending on if you take their human relationships as indicative of genetic change. the lore has avoided saying much about half elf offspring, presumably to avoid making them an allied race option.

Do... do you realize that High Elves exist on the alliance... that they have their own faction and all... They keep showing up.... as members of the alliance.... because they are part of the alliance.... regardless if Blood Elves are Horde.

Does...talking like William...Shatner in his...Rocket Man prime*...help to get...your...point across...better?

There are many, many units in each faction that are seen but not playable by us. Classes such as geomancers, sappers, spellbreakers, races such as Taunka, Half-ogres, and Jinyu. Just because you see one in the background doesn't mean that it must one day be playable.

Now, were did I say "High Elves must be playable"?

They could never be, they will most likely never be. So? I would still like if they were.

As for comparisons for HE with any other faction or group not currently playable.
Yeah, no, the Silver Covenant is by far the most reocurring group in a faction lorewise. Not even Wildhammer Dwarves are up there.

Had High Elves just showed up on WotLK and then go to obscurity the issue wouldn't be as big. Instead, They... Just... Keep... Showing.... Up.
