Petition to Ban Asmongold

OP, I would like to take a moment to direct your attention to the right side of your screen. On every post you should see a little box with a down arrow in it.

The next time you see a forum post that you do not like or a poster that you do not like/do not agree with, please hit that little arrow & put the poster on ignore.

I guarantee your forum life will be much happier after you do so. I do have to warn you though, if someone else quotes that person you will have the ability to click on it & see what the poster you ignored wrote (however that is on you to click if you want to, it won't just show up - IIRC it will show the poster's name & that you have ignored that person & to click to see the quote).

While I can understand your feelings on the matter, the fact is that there are many toxic people here in the forums & banning one of them won't help. Just put the ones you don't like on ignore & carry on.
I don't see a need to ban him.

I do dislike the spammy threads that pop up here, but I don't think those can be blamed on him.

I do wonder if we could benefit from a subforum for promoting and discussing Twitch streamers and YouTube channels, so that the spam (if it can't be prevented) could be contained there. I don't know how practical a suggestion that really is, really, so just putting that out there.
You must be new to GD if you think toxicity will be solved w/o Asmongold around. It was around for years before he posted his first video on youtube.
OP is mad somebody said a bad thing sbout their favorite game, lol.
Not sure if srs or trolling.

But no, you can't ban someone just because they have opinions that other people agree with.

Isn't it a good thing when the indistinguishable yammering becomes something resembling a collective voice?

Spammy fanbois are annoying, sure. But how many people think the guy in question is actually *wrong*?

...

I still believe something must be done to cease the toxicity he brings to the forums. A Blizzard representative needs to contact him and give him a warning. What he is doing is unacceptable and he is only getting away with it because of his influence.

You realize there is a current MvP, that does the same thing, read the forum on his youtubes/streams.

If it is the person I am thinking of, that would explain how he managed to get MVP status. There's no other logical explanation for it and I SO wish he'd lose it as his posts are useless "I am so wonderful and Blizzard is so wonderful and WoW is so wonderful, I just don't understand why any of you have problems!" piles of diarrhea of the mouth. I ignored him a couple years back, because he was just so nasty to everyone, but apparently that doesn't work so well for MVPs because he is no longer on my ignore list.

Of course, if it's NOT the person I am thinking of, then carry on reading forum threads, my dude. (Also, this IS my main, or at least my original character & usually my main.)

For years have the residents of this forum suffered from the harassment and toxicity brought by Asmongold and his goons. We surely have all heard his name and have been negatively affected by his interactions with this board. Well I say that enough is enough and it is time to ban Asmongold from General Discussion.

Asmongold plagues this site and spreads like a disease with the aid of his devious minions. He sends his angry viewers from his Twitch and Youtube channel here, acting as mindless drones to pollute the forums with toxic posts and calling on them to push his elitist agenda unto this game. When will the mods stop this spam? When will we finally stop seeing hostile anti-casual anti-Blizzard posts caused purely by Asmongold and his dark ambitions?

Repeatedly has he harassed posters and players on the forums, in front of a audience of thousands for all to see as he, like a wolf and a rabbit, devoured innocent posters simply for having the wrong opinion on the game and its systems. Repeatedly has he called for the hounding of Blizzard employees, some who even may read these very forums, simply because the plans which they craft so delicately and passionately for World of Warcraft do not match up with his elitist agenda.

How much longer will we allow Asmongold to use his forceful influence to twist the natural balance of these forums? Shaping opinions and sowing toxicity, Asmongold and his invasive minions have no place on General Discussion. He must be stopped. He must be banned. Please consider this at I do genuinely believe the removal of Asmongold from the forums will remove toxicity and encourage a healthy, friendly environment for new and old players alike. It is time to remove the thorn from the side and say enough.
can we ban people requesting bans too?!
Asmongold is great, and I've enjoyed his content for years. If you don't like what he has to say, simply don't read it or watch it, and stop your whining.
lol the mentality that a streamer has control of what his fanbase does is just ignorant and well...mental. Would you be justified to be locked in prison if friends of yours murdered people and u had nothing to do with it but by knowing them your now liable too? Of coarse not.

Dont like his content dont watch it easy as that.

He doesn't post here.
Lame attempt to advertise for a paid streamer. Pretend to attack him so that others will praise him, telling us what a Wow hero he is. Ops goal is to call attention to streamer and drive business to him. Reported.
If we were to ban everyone who was a ranting, raving, toxic moron, we'd be left with about ten people.
As much as I'd like to NOT see his name pop up everywhere on the forums, I would hate to ban free speech. Sorry OP, but nope.

However, followers of Asmon, please stop talking about him. Refine or develop yer own opinions.
Who would imagine we'd get this far.
Why do I get the feeling this is a thinly veiled attempt to get on his live stream.
I disagree with Asmongold on almost everything he said in the one stream I watched...

Him and several others have sturred up their sheep who are now crusading against TF and WF rather than trying to suggest variations of "bad luck" insurance... they all just want to remove a system that is fun as bonus loot...

That said...he can and always should be able to say what he wants without censorship so NO!

All the dude does is read the forums on stream. Can't ban a dude for that. And pretty sure you still can read the forums whilst banned, so a ban would solve nothing.
who are you yo decided things like this?
