Druid's broken azerite trait...

Basically it was Pikaboo, rank 1 rogue getting killed from 85-90% hp in 2 seconds with no warning.

I want your honest opinion guys, was that balanced? I know it was because of a certain azerite trait being stacked. (Lively spirit)

Would you honestly defend that because this is as bad as that shuriken azerite trait that sub rogues had that got nerfed... (with the rest of the spec)
1. No one wants broken azerite traits. As far as pvp goes no one even wants azerite traits to be active. They should be disabled and classes be balanced accordingly.

2. If they won't disable azerite traits in pvp, there's still no one that wants or defends cross spec trait gimmicks being a thing.
No pity for rogues . Takes skill to set kill up . He got smashed
That particular trait is incredibly hard to set up correctly. Balanced in terms of what is maybe what I'd ask. Balanced for Arena? Maybe not, it's going to be much easier to coordinate the use of that trait there.

Balanced in general? In most situations it's not even worth it to take the trait unless you have a group of people that you run with frequently because it ends up being useless if the healer doesn't know you have the trait and stack it as much as possible.
@Patchy: "Takes skill to set kill up" All he did was innervate then use incarnation when the azerite trait gave the int bonus from the healer then proceeded to 2 shot Pika with no CC... in 2 seconds
*Also grats on the worgen updates.*

That is as much set up as sub rogues having to pop Shadow blades, SoD, SD, damage trinket, use shuriken storm to hit multiple people and then throw thier shuriken toss with full azerite stacks. 3x That got nerfed to oblivion.

@Loraedon: It might be but that was the same argument other classes had with one shot azerite traits, this had a huge impact in tournaments too which shouldn't be the case. Realistically as a healer & DPS I dont see it being too hard to pull off.

I just think that potential shouldn't be there. Sooner or later people are going to start using it, abusing it and then what will happen is Blizzard is going to use the nerf hammer unfairly on balance.

Imagine 2s with disc and boomkin, using incarnation, lively spirit and dark arch angel. That wouldn't even be fair.

Still, Method Orange & Gosu Crew did an amazing job for making NA be #1 and I'm happy for both teams.
Eh, I just simply don't care about balance in Arena Estrath, not in this way, and if they balanced the entire rest of the game against Arena I'd just stop playing.
No, it isn't balanced. However, our other azerite options can't compete to a good lively stack, it's just too OP, and so it's used a lot. It's getting a 30% nerf in 8.1, but most Boomy's (at least the vocal ones) would rather see it removed all together. You wouldn't have to look too hard to find endless stream of Lively Spirit hate.

This is fair point and wow isn't all about arena. Still you can nerf traits to where they would be weaker once a player enters pvp combat with someone.

I agree, I'm glad to hear that most Druids wouldn't want this trait because honestly things like this make people not have a choice in a sense.

disable azerite traits in pvp
The trait itself CAN be pretty OP with +3 But the innervate buff can be purged or dispelled off the healer--thus making it useless. OR u can CC the healer so he can't create stacks for the druid, or you can purge/dispel the druid in a stun, or you can simply LOS the guy for X amount of seconds. I mean... there are ways around it. Unlike some of the other moronic BS traits that are out there. I mean yeah, i wouldn't want to be globaled like that...
Also, I just let that video roll on replay for a while. Lol.. so lovely seeing a rogue just fall over like that! Even if it was a cheap azerite trait that down'd him =P

I'm sure Pika thought it was amusing too. xD
Oh noes, a rogue had a lot of dmg done too him boohoo....meanwhile i get chunked by a rouge with full hots on myself and barkskin on in one kidney simply because i wasnt in bear. No sympathy for a broken class.

No rogue has the ability to drop someone that quickly.

Yes it's stupid/cheesy, yes it will get nerfed. Balance will still be good without it, and I bet most would be ok with that trait just getting deleted due to how stupid it is.

<edit> and if you're getting caught in a full vendetta kidney with no trinket, out of form, with no peels from your partner that is 100% your fault and you prob deserve to lose. And even that probably wouldn't 100-0 you singlehanded with barkskin, rogues don't do 30k dps single target, you're prob getting taken down at like 60 or 70%
What if Blizzard simply did what they did with Overwatch, and implement a new system that dictates that you can only have one of any given trait at a time?

it seems impossible to predict and balance unintended consequences from stacking single traits that quickly become cookie-cutter "BIS" traits for a spec.
The rogue should of cloaked then all that setup would of been for naught no dmg taken

Did you even watch the video or did you just rush in here to make an ignorant comment?

All cds are listed on their unit frames. Go watch the video and note the cooldown on cloak.

This isn't a rogue issue it's an azerite trait problem. Can't believe your defending a trait that allows balance druids to 2 shot people. Any class that had a trait that acted in that fashion already had it nerfed.
To be fair.... it didn't 2 shot him, he was being focused by the DH also. Trill set up that kill, Sam just knocked it down.

No it was 2 shots from 85%, Pika jumped away from Trill when that happened. I watch this video like 10 times. Pika came out of a stun from Trill and started walking towards the pillar and used elusiveness for the 2nd starsurge. The fact that Pika still died with a 30% damage reduction on the 2nd starsurge should tell you how broken that trait is.
