The Current State of WoW

Battle for Azeroth Items and Classes
I remember a time when I could log in, devote a decent amount of my time, and come out of it with something for my character; leaving me feeling satisfied that I'd accomplished something, even so minuscule as completing a quest. It's been a while since I've felt that way.

Now, all I am is disheartened. You can devote all the time you want to the game as it is right now, but none of your efforts will matter. Forced because of RNG only reward systems, class imbalances, a "holier than thou" dev team that leaves the people with more questions than answers regularly, and meaningless "world quests" at level cap that have no lasting repercussion in the game, unlike old-fashioned attunement quests. It pains me to realize this, I grew up with WoW, and I watched WoW grow. I know it sounds like a sob story but it's just hard for me to realize how much the game has decayed. Edit: I remember a time when the devs loved the game more than we did :/

It would be awesome if we could just get a human response from the dev team, not simply corporate speak for "yes or no" in response to all of our concerns. To the devs: Do you feel like BFA was successful? Was this end scenario what was envisioned? If not, do you agree that some systems were implemented poorly from the start? What is core reason why it's believed pruning is better than expanding?

Again, not trying to hate on the dev team, just want to enjoy the game again :/
WoW is dead. I dont feel my class, i dont feel that game. I dont feel even hope. Just boring pain. Im tired.

And I dont want Vanilla, I want somethink like WoTLK or MoP. I wanna play my DK. I wanna play arena. Without that bull!@#$ nerfs against enemy player. This fckng scaling system, this stupid allmost RNG. I miss you WoW, I hate you BfA. I hate your devs vector guys, Hazzicostas, Holinka, Kaleiki. It's your fail, you killed that game, you killed our world.
My first was during BT TBC, I didn't raid then and hardly now, these days. But I grinded and grinded to make Swift Strike Shoulders for my Rogue...still remember, how rewarding it was because of the time I spent gathering mats. Miss those days.

Well would you look at that, grinding for a clear, non-RNG goal is more satisfying. Not surprised. Always been that way.

I advocated against the infancy of all of this crap RNG to keep people playing years ago and got called names and insulted by a lot of the playerbase.

Sucks to be right these years later.

After MOP I had a chance to get into the WOD beta. Such a disregard for player feed back even then. These guys are deliberately ignoring us, and doing whatever they want at the cost of subs, and game play.
RNG is.... ugh.... a total nightmare... To be forced how and pray that you might get a drop, and if you are so lucky to get a drop, to get one that you have not gotten the last six times you actually got loot. Don't even get me started on Azerite pieces....

I remember in BC grinding for weeks to get the mats I needed to make my Long Road and Swiftheal sets. Or how amazing it felt to help a friend/guildie make those things. Using your CD to help them get the mats. It was so satisfying.

Now you have to force a smile and try to be happy as you watch others out gear you due to rng. I have friends that hardly play that now out gear me. It makes you not want to play, when you know that your fate is up to the RNG Gods. Have to gear up to raid. But you cant control if you get the gear you need. And then there is Azerite armor.... UGH.... It is already hard to get.... especially if you are up there in ilvl... you waste all this time trying to get a high key or raiding and you get an upgrade... OH wait its not because of the traits... Guess you are stuck with that 340 until next week... BfA is such a disappointment and lets be real... they botched this. After 14 years of playing, I want to unsub... It is sad.

Game is a loot casino.

unsub

yes
RNG sucks so bad yay another emissary I got a trait that was nerfed by 55% that I will still use my 345 piece over my new 370 such an awesome game.
I moved onto FF14. You feel like you have gotten somewhere after every time you have logged off, a fun game, where your characters feel complete. WOW has gone backwards instead, and its not a good thing. RNG is especially bad.

This right here. They are demonstrating with their actions that they don’t care about the long term, passionate players that have stuck by this game for years. They’re counting on addiction to trap us here rather than continuing to develop the amazing game we all used to love. We played it because it was fun, not because we were forced to. WoD was the beginning of the end of the fun days. It saddens me that Blizz won’t acknowledge that this new direction is destroying this game. I’d love to love this game again, but for now they clearly don’t value me as a player.

+1
The extreme RNG gearing is horrible.

I'm working on the Hallows End achievement this year, finally. Just knowing what steps to take and that at the end of those steps I WILL be rewarded with a title feels so much better than relying on random chance.

Same deal when I got the golden celestial cloud serpent. I killed massive amounts of those dang frogs to get the tokens I needed.

Having a goal, working towards it, knowing how much further I have to go and how long it'll take to get there. At this point im past caring if Ion and his goof troop agree with me. I'm just not engaging in their casino and when I run out of other things to do I'll unsub.

If the next expansion drops with this same level of RNG I will not be purchasing it.
It has been said for a while that there will be no other game that will be the WoW killer. WoW will kill itself. The slot machine has to go. I would say about 90% of my guild only logs on for raid nights and we already have people who are happy to sit out on fights/entire nights.

PvP and PVE vendors need to make a comeback in some way. Players have been begging for them. Sub numbers have without a doubt gone down. How has the decision to not include vendors worked out?

Why are we stuck with only 2 bonus rolls per week now? What happened to 3? What happened to timewalkers giving another bonus roll? What happened to the mission table that gives a bonus roll? My longest stretch of time with bonus rolls failing have been 6 (3 weeks). My shortest has been 4 (2 weeks). Getting a measly amount of azerite power does not feel good.

I have nearly 700 sanguicell with nothing to do with them because I don't have a profession that uses them. GG.

Classes have been completed gutted. Gameplay has gone downhill. How come we did not get another talent row at 120 especially after losing our artifact?

Nobody asked for the GCD changes. Regarding tanks there are offensive and key defensive abilities that share a GCD for some reason.

Tank imbalance is still major between utility and self sustain. They gave blood dk a small slap on the wrist but did nothing to address utility for other tanks. Blood DK will still be the premier MDI tank and group tank until they address utility issues.

There needs to be more incentive to do dailies and M+. See the above statement. 90% of my guild only logging in on raid nights and they can't logoff fast enough after a raid is over. Half our raid team does not even care about doing a single M+10 each week anymore because they are already tired of the RNG cache and getting useless duplicate armor slots every week.

It feels like they are trying to introduce to much RNG into the system but it's not working in their favor. Why can't what we go back to what worked and the game was at its prime sub numbers? Some current systems work in legion/bfa but gameplay and the absurd amount of rng don't in an mmo. The amount of RNG going on right now is OK in a game like Diablo where you have the option of playing alone. It is not ok in an mmo.
Yep...logged in the other night, weighed my options, decided since our guild raids were done for the week that there was no current content worth doing, logged out.

It was sad and upsetting because I love this game and want it to be rewarding to spend time playing but at the moment it just flat-out isn't.
I want my pvp to be exciting again. I just want conquest vendors, honor vendors, and non-RNG play styles. Everything is a proc, or a build, and spender.

There are literally hundreds of forum posts calling blizzard out, and they refuse to acknowledge the class issues, the Azerite system, the absolute disregard for imbalanced sharding, the lack of creativity with world quests, the lack of new abilities, and class mechanical issues.

Why in the !@#$ did I come back to this game? Legion at least took 6 damn months before I got to this point. This only took a few weeks.

This game is their flagship. It made them what they are today. It is only now a testiment to their regard for the player base. We all can be toxic this much is true. But that is only because you refuse to listen to us when we've played the game for years. It is evident none of you even do or care at this point.

The FPS loot crate nonsense has no place in a MMO. You guys seriously have not only made me begin to hate the game but hate your company as well. What gives you the right to literally tell millions of paying customers you know what we want over what the community as a whole wants?

Your asinine development of this games systems, and lack of creativity classes, and gutting them has single handedly cost this game millions of subs.

Many of us are advocating for 5.4 style classes again. Not your horrible class design methods since Warlords of Draenor.

We want utility, more base line spells, and server wpvp not cross realm.
