Forum Negativity is Shocking to me

I come to the forum and see so much negativity and it really surprises me because I actually really enjoy this expansion and feel it's certainly a solid 8/10. I get that it's subjective opinion, but how are we all so far apart in our perceptions?

I think part of the forum problem is that people like myself aren't ever posting because we simply enjoy the game and would prefer to be in game rather than venting on here. I don't think this alone can be account for the extremes though.

Am I a terrible judge of games and this is actually a terrible expansion or is this where the minority go to vent?

Also yes.
How dare you have a dissenting opinion!

GUARDS!

Send this man to the Gulag!
I am literally shaking
Maybe I just don't play enough other games to see, but if the other choices are so much better, why stick around?

You're probably a terrible judge of games.

BfA is not good, not by a long shot.

The good news is you can keep enjoying it if you enjoy it already.
I've only seen 1 and only 1 game forum that was not overwhelmingly negative and that was because the forum mods were draconic in enforcing a "no negativity" rule. You could be critical, but you had to be constructive.

The company/game in question was Gazillion's Marvel Heroes and they went out of business but not because of their forum policies.

Blizz tries to minimize really blatant nasty negativity but it leaves a lot of room for less nasty negativity but still results in a very negative feeling. If it makes you feel better Blizz's shows the normal amount of effort policing their forums when compared to most other gaming companies.
"It's just beta"

"It's just the forums"

"It's just Reddit"

"It's just Metacritic"

"It's just Heelvsbabyface"

"It's just like every YouTube/Twitch WoW content creator"

Thanks for the insight, that's good to know!
Yeah, some people here hate me the most when they know I'm having fun.
You're literally shocking me with your honesty. Nah I don't know to each their own I guess. Some like certain expansions like WoD believe it or not, so whateva floats your tauren canoe.

It takes a large canoe to keep a tauren afloat! WoD was one of those expansions where I did take a break midway through because of burnout before returning at end. I would have given that one a 6/10.
Thing is, is not only GD that's negative.

Most of BFA related youtube is negative. Reddit and MMO are too, trade chat is negative as well at least on my server.

Take also into account that things are much worse for the Alliance than the Horde, as one of the main problems has been the massive bias in favor of the Horde Blizz has displayed this expac.

This really is a terrible expac.
The only people I've seen who enjoy this expansion are super casuals who luck out in the casino lottery war/titanforge bonanza and those who started WoW in a very recent expansion.

I can only speak for myself (obviously) but there's a couple of reasons and the most important one is Warlocks. I've been one since vanilla and I play several now; also a Mage but I wouldn't stick around if I had only been interested in Mages. Despite all the stupid design choices and constant butchering of my class, I've never been able to give it up.

Although as it stands, I almost don't play at all. I've made a half-hearted attempt at trying to unlock Dark Iron Dwarves but that's about it.
The problem as I see it is that while the game does several things really well, what it does Bad is a horrible, epic level fail.

Azerite and everything around it is stupid on a level all by itself. The system that they for Warfronts is pretty freaking stupid and for no reason. It certainly doesn’t add to the game. Island Expeditions are freaking stupid and boring. Like I would rather level my fishing stupid.

I try not to hold it against them. They took a chance and tried something. Sometimes why you try, you end up failing and that’s what happened.

I don’t plan on quitting but I am not shy about pointing out the things that I don’t like.

I would also like to add that I had more fun running the Timewalker dungeons tonight that I have had in any of BFA ones. Maybe because I occasionally got loot. Badly needed loot. I almost always got a Tiny Sliver of Azerite. That is like the worst reward possible. You don’t even get to see it in my bag. Would it be so bad if I got to at least apply the slivers myself? I even dumped my Azerite shoulders the Timewalker ones were better and its “traits” were garbage.

I think part of how much you like BFA is based on what kind of rewards you have gotten. If the Azerite you get only has traits that you couldn’t care less about and all your other boss drops are slivers of Azerite, you are going to be enjoying things less than someone who feels that they at least got a little reward occasionally for their efforts
You're allowed to like a game, there's nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't mean that parts of the game aren't seriously lacking.
Its starting to really become a problem elsewhere as well.
I feel like I can't play or talk about this game any more without some one bringing up how "bad" it is, without even having any experience in the matter.

I really hope we can move on from this soon, because even though there are plenty of problems with the expansion, how often do we actually need to talk about the same things over and over again before the people who genuinely dislike it can move on with their lives, and the people who are sticking it out can focus on the positives and the future of the game?

All I know is Blizzcon is coming up. I hope there will be some fun times to be had and more things we can all agree on and enjoy, because even though I absolutely love this game and its community, its really hard to want to discuss playing the game and constantly having to navigate people talking about not playing it.
Id be fine with this xpac if whoever is in charge of class balancing would do their job.
