but morons with disposable income

If you are paying $14-$15 a month to slay computer generated dragons and people, then you are one of those morons with disposable incomes.

That hair doesn't split the way you want it too.

$15 a month is a whole lot cheaper than most forms of mass entertainment. Hell, taking my girlfriend to the movies nets me 3 hours of entertainment for more than the cost of that month.
I foresee this being a huge problem. Currently if a Guild Leader /disbands and steals mats and flees the server, they can be actioned for scamming. Under this system, Blizz is allowing them to potentially steal from their guilds by paying real money. I can't imagine how many posts we'll start seeing where people lost their guilds to a GM xferring in the night.

Actually, I'm pretty sure right now the GM is considered to be in full ownership of the guild and any contents of the guild's bank. So, even though it's a horrible thing to do, if they didn't lie or decieve someone into putting their money/items in the GB then it wouldn't count as scamming.
Hema and Rucaria, there's been a change in Blizzard policy about what you are discussing. Several times recently we've seen guilds recover assets from Guild Leaders who clean out the bank and disappear.

When the GM's account is the one that was comprimised.

Or is it just going back to the "The GM owns the guild and everything in it, and the other members have no rights." mentality?

When did the GM stop owning everything?? That's news to me.

It's been more than that. Dig through the CSF forums and you'll find several examples. Below are a couple.

If you don't like the guild system, make your own. You can't complain about your GL having leadership when you join KNOWING they have complete leadership.

Have any posts with actual blue text, or that don't have quotes lifted from threads that are long gone (thus I can't get the actual context of the quote from)??
I hope but seriously doubt they will back date this as we just transfered realms.
As a player on a dying realm with six years invested in my guild...THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

Those were just the first two I came across. There are several others where the CSF agents weigh in on this topic. For what it's worth, if the OP in those misquoted the Blue poster, I feel sure at least the MVP if not the actual Blue would have pointed it out.

Your guild has 178 85's in it, that's more 85's than some of the truly "dying" realms have on them total. I'm not sure your realm is truly DYING.
So when can I sell my guild? I mean transfer it to a better server.

I didn't say that the quote was "misquoted", I said I can't read the original thread to obtain the context of the statement that was made. If you read the first thread you posted, others actually point out the fact that the response was made in a context of a hacked account. Hence why I asked for an actual post from a blue poster since the new forums went live, that I could read the entire thread and establish a context.
