Cannot Dance While In Combat

General Discussion
Silly change. Really annoying.

I would love a reasoning behind why but alas, I doubt I'll ever get an explanation.
Yeah, it seems completely pointless. :| *not happy*
I would love to hear some reasoning for this change as well...

This only lends credit to the whole "Blizzard nerfs fun" theory :-/
Who doesn't love dancing?

Especially if you hate your pug group and they are out of vote to kicks, and they have yelled at you a lot, dancing seems like a perfectly fun thing to do.
We can't dance while in combat anymore?! How are we supposed to beat Strath's trash mobs now!!! D:

Seriously now, I used to love dancing a few seconds before Sindragosa froze me on a ice cube during Wrath. :(
To stop the griefers who would dance in DF groups when they knew they couldn't be kicked? If you can't dance, what's the point?

Seriously though, seems like a pointless nerf to fun.

Like this guy. See, there was a point.
:O

This is horrible!

You do know that said griefers can just sit there without dancing, right?

Logic, my friend...
Seen how this thread was started by an alli. And thought to myself no wonder why they aren't very good in pvp.

:P
Dancing during combat had it's raid benefits too. When we're afraid of pushing a boss into another phase too soon my raid leader usually shouts on vent "Stop all dps!". At this point I usually start dancing.

... ok, maybe that doesn't help the raid, but it doesn't hurt either!

Despite not having a blue on the subject. I am going to go out on a limb and say...

...this was not the reason for the change.
Also, before someone comes in raging about PvP.
If this was to stop "PvP Griefers" they would of removed the ability to use emotes in general, not dancing.
Just type /em dances. Oh and the griefers will just end up /flirt or /silly while they sit in the dungeon anyways.
As someone who rarely reads bg chat and therefore go GM by myself while rest of team went LM and I come across 6 allies and they start beating on me i usually fear bomb and dance on this gal. Shame I cant do that anymore..:(
Cause fun things are imba.

Cast your doubts aside!

Dancing while in combat was disabled to fix some unfortunate animation bugs. For example, several races do a torso twist as part of their special attack animation, and that would go haywire when the character was also trying to dance.

Part of what makes WoW a compelling experience is the sense of immersion in this alternate world, and that is a sense that can be disrupted by graphic glitches.

We definitely hear the outcry over the dancing in combat. Our tactic is going to be to try to let characters dance while they are in combat, and always break the dance when a foe is engaged (so you could dance while in combat, but only when your character is idle). We are just starting to investigate this solution, but I can assure you that it is being evaluated. I’ve heard that directly from the mouths of the devs.

Having said that, we realize there are plenty of other areas in the game where the art can get into a less than optimal state, and nobody should assume that we just don’t care about those – they are all on the radar.

At least none of my parts are missing.

On the upside, you have one jaw more than many of your kind, so that's something I guess.

Speaking of.........

Are you aware of the graphical glitch with female Draenei and turning left or right while standing still?
