Deathwing died with a whimper (mild spoilers)

I'm REAAALY hoping the final DW encounter on heroic has an additional phase to the fight, just so I can imagine in my mind that, somewhere, he got a PROPER sendoff instead of THIS.

As it stands, he slumped forward and we beat on his face while pausing to kill adds before resuming the face-beating. It was like "GIANT BATTLE WITH TONS OF TRASH, with special guest, Deathwing".

Some ideas for DW's last hurrah...

1. Deathwing's decapitated head eats away at the stone we're standing on while we desperately try to kill him before he eats all of it and kills us. Imagine the pounding pulse you'll have as you watch his giant head get closer and closer as you continue to back away, discovering you have nowhere left to go!

2. Just as we've removed his last fingernail, Deathwing's SKELETON, still infused with the power of the old gods, explodes out of him, dripping with flesh and gore. He grabs the two islands on the ends, SLAMS all four of them together, forming one large platform for a final battle.

3. Deathwing PULLS OUR PLATFORM INTO THE ****ing MAELSTROM!!!! HOLY ****!!!! As we swirl around the Maelstrom, we have to battle for all our lives in a desperate attempt to get him to release us before he pulls us into the maelstrom with him!

The actual final phase was extremely anticlimactic. He just kind of...gave up at the end. Hardly a fitting sendoff for such an allegedly powerful villain...
I haven't killed him but I saw the cinematic... made me very sad because I love dragons :/

Watching that "small dragon" fight felt more epic then killing Deathwing...
I have high hopes for GW2. I hope it translates into actual gameplay rather then just hype.

That way, there's something to look forward to on heroic instead of the difficulty just being higher. Want the REAL ending? Beat it on the REAL difficulty. Simple as that.

In terms of storytelling and content accessibility, there isn't a real difficulty. The way we handled Ragnaros was kind of unique, but he's not the final boss of this expansion.

Your idea is quite contrary to our motivation for implementing multiple difficulties. We want as many people as possible to be able to experience the story, while still preserving many of the more prestigious rewards and achievements for those who complete Heroic difficulty.
*This isn't the post you're looking for*.
I CRUSH YOUR DEATHWING I CRUSH HIM IN MY HAND!

That being said, I kind wish we went toe to toe, with him but eh he is a monstrosity of metal have fire and liquid magma, so I guess we wouldn't stand a chance with that near limitless power and all.

DUN DUN DUUNNNN!!!

I'm pretty sure he's saying that Ragnaros isn't the final boss of this expansion. Reading context FTW!
I am sad to say that i agree with the op on this one. i have been a loyal customer to WoW for 7 years was back in the open beta before launch and bought the game the day of release. I was not a hard core raider then and am not a hard core raider now but to me vanilla was the best this game was and has been. didn't like tbc but played through it, i liked the way things were going in wrath but cataclysm and from the looks of if MoP is just downgrading the dificulty i do not like the way the talent system is going in MoP.

In this case it does not look to me that less = more. I'm sad to say that it looks like WoW is on the decline from my end. i know you guys put a lot of work into it longs hours and read feedback but i must say that we as a customer base sometimes do not know what we really want. yea we may say we want easy epics but that takes the fun out of getting them i think.

Keep in mind these are only my opinions and opinions are like the gludius maximus in the fact that everybody has one.

Z you are my hero.

Here's how Bliz ought to handle raids in the future...

LFR: you get 1 of 3 end phases for the final boss and it's implied that you didn't ACTUALLY kill the boss. You still get loot for trying.

Normal: 2 of 3 end phases for the final boss and it's implied that you didn't ACTUALLY kill the boss. You still get loot for trying.

Heroic: you get ALL 3 end phases and the REAL ending about how you killed the final boss.

What a remarkably bad idea.

Reading skills for the win.

Shhh!

Give me hope!

I need to believe something will happen between now and the panda/pokemon expansion!
I dunno if you were around for this but back in Wrath, if you cleared all the normal content, all the heroic content and did a bunch of meta's - you get a bad !@# mount. That's a pretty cool reward for working your tail off. You got an achievement too.

I hear in Cata you can get special mounts too for doing heroic cool neato stuff and achievements and OMFG you can get better gear than anyone else who hasn't done heroic stuff....

WOW OMFG that's amazing.. if you didn't know that, well now you do.
