Are healers even necessary in pvp?

Battlegrounds
Yes this is a serious post
From my experience of PvP over the years, a good dps that CCs, interupts, and bursts is much more game breaking then a healer

Think of it like this. You(a dps class) and a rogue enter the WS flagroom and see the efc(enh shaman) and a lock. You cc and interupt all the lock's spells, burst down the efc with the rogue, and return the flag. That was alot more simpler then rogue/healer vs 2 dps

Or say the situation is you're escorting the flag. Why not cc/kill all the enemys attacking your flag carrier? I think it would be better to kill them rather then risk you getting CCed and your fc dieing.

PvE is a different story of course
How many high ranked rated BG teams are running without healers?

Honest question - I don't do organized Pvp.

A competent healer is capable of helping cc, keeping the dps out of cc, keeping the dps's health up and putting out some minor dps. A 2nd dps vs a healer bring different things to the table. It just depends on the synergy that they have with the 1st dps. And rogue/healer is one of the stronger 2s comps. Provided nobody else came, they would be more than capable of killing the flag carrier in your scenario.

You didn't even mention healers here, but there is a reason most RBG teams take 3-4 healers to Flag carrying games. Its cuz they keep the flag carrier alive with heals and dispels.

Probably none, but I do believe there are a few teams in Arenas that are triple DPS in 2400+ spots.

Yeah I'm aware that alot of top ranked teams have healers, but theoretically I would think a good dps would be much more gamebreaking then a good healer.

Yeah I understand that healers help support the team, but a dps class could also help the team by killing whatever enemy fast and efficiently.

But hey honestly this is all just theory, not saying i'm a godly pvper or anything lol
Healers are designed around their dps peeling for them and interrupting polys and such. If you do not do this yes it would seem to you that healers are obselete.

Because healers support the team in ways another dps can't, it is usually in your best interest to bring a couple along. It makes your team better balanced. Instead of being offensive all the time, you can choose when to be offensive and you can turtle when necessary.
.
One could argue the merrits of healers in pvp but when i run into flag room with a decent dps we can drop anything up to 5 dps and then lol afterwards, If were talking a bg like AB i can run around like a tool and distract 3 dps while my rogue friend caps.
Theres also when doing random bg's the need for healers to keep the fresh lvl 85's up otherwise old mate who just dinged 85 with his boa on and a huge 90k hp is going to die as soon as he gets looked at.
As a counter to your think about this coment, How many bg's have u entered and had no heals v other team with say 2 out of 10 being healers ? me lots do we win often with no healers NO theres your game breaker :)
if ur talking about randoms... no

if ur talking about rbgs... yes

if ur talking about arena... mmmm do you consider a Ret paladin a healer? if not. then no

It's pretty obvious if your team is losing without healers that the dps on your team are dog!@#$. Aka all your players are dog%^-*. A team without healers should have more than enough dps to burst through their two healers with no problems at all.
I kind of think it would be like GW2, which doesn't have dedicated healers. In GW2 PvP, especially WvW, people were constantly getting one-shot before they could do anything. I think someone once compared it to being a hit-point of a single giant monster.

In WoW and most conventional MMOs; especially in team-play, when people focus fire a lot, healers let you stay alive long enough to be relevant.
Because 1 healer can heal more than 1 dps can damage. Dps is reduced by resilience but heals are not.

You've played 910 battlegrounds, and died in them 1962 times.

So what is your point? lol
1) that I suck?
2) that healers are useless?
3) that I am useless?
4) that healers don't like me and let me die?
I really have no idea what my average 2.156 deaths/battleground have to do with healers being necessary or not in battlegrounds.

it's not fair that resilience affects your windfury procs, but not a priests Penance.
Well that is you saying, not me. I don't think resilience should reduce healing taken. In fact, low level pvp sucks exactly because you can't have a lot of resilience and damage is just too high, making your expend much more time running from gy than fighting.
