Important Lore question?!?

Ok so I was riding around as my sandstone drake and it hit me, The question.
How do the drakes mate if they're made out of stone? Darwinism would have had the drakes die out long ago..

Thoughts?
Stone and Storm Drakes are more Elementals than actual Dragonkin.

If I'm correct, they evolved into the first Proto Drakes.

The same way Theradras mates, presumably.

Darwinism doesn't amply to WoW.

It's fantasy.

Don't think too hard.

this, and it shouldn't even be Apply'd to rl.
And they look like the're made from the same hard stone from Deepholm, but yet they can be skinned. So if you combined stone and skin together I guess you would get Petrified Leather?
I'd guess they asexually reproduce, if only to avert the mental images of the other option.
While flying around I noticed my tail wasn't very flexible, being stone and all. That would make the positioning abit tougher according to physics.

Stone Dragons are adept in Stone Magic. It's better to assume they're using magnetism to keep themselves aloft rather than actual flight.
Your idea does make sense, but there would have to be some massive magnets somewhere though.

Im assuming Deepholm is in the core of Azeroth and the magnetism is strongest there. But what about in high places in the open like Mount Hyjal? How do they fly there?

Assuming Azeroth has a magnetic field, and we're talking about magic, which doesn't have to make sense, they could just be bending the magnetic field around them.

Also, I don't think Deepholm is literally Azeroth's Core. It's another plane of existence. The rift to it just happens to be in the Maelstrom.

This.

...*Shudder shudder shudder shudder*
<====ooooo+D

^^Assume the top figure is a drake

<====o0000+D
the bigger o's would have to be supercharged super chilled magnets for its core
Again.

Magic.
But the flaw in my theory is the drakes are breathing living beings. They would need organs, but the organs would be screwed by the magnetism. Thus they would have died off long ago, and never been able to reproduce.

Stone Drakes and Storm Drakes aren't actually living, in the sense you mean. They're Elementals. Like a Fire or Earth Elemental.
Do you think Malygos would have givin magic to Therazane. She HATES outsiders.
But if Im able to become a drake, does that make me a half-elemental? javascript:;
