Do I need a CPU cooler if not overclocking?

Games, Gaming and Hardware
I was planning on getting the Intel i5-3450, but the Intel i5-3570K is on sale on Amazon. If I buy the 3570K, will I need to buy a CPU cooler if I am not going to overclock it, or will it still need one?

From what I know, the -K just means I can overclock it safely if I wanted to, so I'm assuming I don't need any sort of cooler if I'm not going to overclock it at the moment.
Whatever fan comes with your CPU will be garbage. I suggest something like this

amazing product for little $$$
All I want to know is if the stock fan will work fine if I don't overclock the CPU.
If you don't plan on overclocking, and your case has more than adequate air flow, you should be fine with the stock cooler. In that case, you'd probably also be better off saving some cash and going for the non K part, as well.

Edit: Going with 3450, as I don't think I'll be overclocking at all. Thanks again.
It's fine.
AMD is the only CPU company that still provides decent heat-sinks with the processor. If you plan on doing no or even a little overclocking, it will be plenty.

The Intel heat-sinks, however, are complete and udder garbage. They do not have "real" copper pipes and are made out of heat creating plastic. Stay away from these at all costs, seriously. They will bring down the performance of your CPU by at least 5-7% and probably more.

If I were you, I would invest 70 bucks in the self contained DIY Corsair H70 or higher. They are extremely efficient and will increase the life of your CPU ten-fold.
if you get the i5 3450 - you can simply use the stock fan that comes with it. Its what im doing im not planning to oc so it works for me and i took all of kalganized advice, and went with the Biostar B75 board because i will not be OC or SLI so its a perfect combo.
