10,000 MS lag issues?

Technical Support
Now I am aware that large amounts of lag are to be expected on launch and for a few days after launch as well. However I am having lag spikes up to as much as 20,000 ms on a fairly regular basis and the screen freezes for such a long period of time I end up dead or just having to alt-f4. In addition if I port into a dungeon or scenario I get lag spikes throughout the whole thing and they are so bad it is unplayable. Yesterday morning after deleting the typical cache, interface and WTF files, and restarting my computer I was having decent steady 200 ms and a few spikes but nothing major, and by the end of the day I had no lag at all in the world or in instances. However I re installed about 6 add-ons (DBM, quartz, healbot, and some other basic ones) and the lag spikes began again. I have tried deleting the files again but now I can't seem to get rid of this problem even for a second. I have the fastest internet connection money can buy, and a brand new computer that ran fine before MoP. Just wondering if I need to wait it out and hope for a solution or if there is anything else I can try.
Do you have any other computers to test with, Pawjobs? Are your guildmates in Defiance seeing high latency too?

I am having these same problems and I keep thinking it's the roadrunner thing and it hasn't been fully worked out yet

Nothing seems to help

Friends I talk to have a different isp but live within 15 miles of me and they don't have these problems
Can you post a trace route, Mathúin? A pathping may also show some connection detail.

no one I have talked to has had these issues at all. Some people I got queued into a dungeon with had the issue but I believe it was because the servers were going down.
I did a pathping and I think I may have discovered the issue.

Now I am not sure but losing 100% of those packets at hop 10 sounds bad.
Will edit this post in a few minutes after I do that yet again
Also just spoke with a friend in my area that is having the same problem but with a different ISP and not nearly as bad as I am
The game is getting to be unplayable mostly for me which sucks because I want to play and I try to bite my tongue as to not put the blame on anyone because I know that things like this happen beyond anyones control at times

From 14 on down 100% loss??
exactly I don't even know how I get a connection with 100% loss but it seems we have lost our blizz rep so IDK how we could fix it
I had the same issue on Arthas Realm as well. By the looks of it, a DDOS attack is to blame. I have done some trace route as well to and from the website.

I'm not 100% sure that it was, but more then less it was. Normal lag doesn't go beyond 500 at most.

Plus, I need a link to email some stuff to blizzard. I might have found the party response able for this. I'm not posting any links about it, do to privacy rules.

If anyone has the email so I can send link to blizzard to check out, that will be very helpful.
I can't help you out there.
I am getting this bad lag too...

I've been trying to level and its been getting worse and worse every hour up to the point that I can't play literally. I got so close to getting 80 and then it just got too unplayable. :/ The lag started on launch but hasn't started getting really bad till today.

This stuff started for me the week before launch

I feel your pain man it gets to be unplayable for me at times also
Disregard this, please. It turns out I was having a problem with my internet connection, we think.

Edit: I'm still having MASSIVE lag spikes that freeze my game.
YEah same here last few days pretty crazy
seems whatever was done during the maintnence today made it go away (/knockwood)

Of course this also happened 2 times before when they said it was "fixed" and it only came back so heres hoping its better now
Nope it's back AGAIN

Trying to hold back my anger but it is just getting to be crap that I can't play most of the time
I had no problems with lag spikes untill they did the server maintanence. now I am having huge spikes that are making my game unplayable. missed nearly half of a dungeon because of on single spike. Yesterday was dungeons only today spikes are now in the general play area as well. Running on a decent computer with 150 mbs dedicated fibre optic line which is giving me a 5ms latency. So no idea whats causing it. even turning down graphics settings hasnt helped the spikes.
I have been having the exact same issue. The game seems fine when there aren't a lot of people around, or when I'm not fighting mobs. But as soon as I engage, I start to get this build up of "world latency". I have had it shoot up to 2000+ ms, yet my "home latency" is still around 60 ms.

I don't believe its video card related, I've switched out cards and still have the same problem.

I also don't believe its the local internet connection, because my roommates play on the same connection just fine.

:( Want to get this fixed asap, I tried to play all day and it wasn't very enjoyable.
