Problem logging into WoW

Last night I was playing just fine. I tried to login today and I was getting the "password incorrect or login name wrong" message after entering my authenticator number.

After several attempts with the same result, I exited the WoW login and did a little investigating. I found an email from blizzard in my spam folder saying that I or someone was trying to sell my D3 account. (I don't even have D3 installed on this comp anymore)

I went to the link provided and reset my account and authenticated my existance with the battle.net site and can log into it with no problems. I still cannot access WoW for some reason.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We don't send mails like that, Shamm - that would have been a phish, and it sounds like you just gave them all your information.

I see your password resets - and that probably has kept them out, but I'd recommend setting up a new and totally unrelated email for use with Battle.net. That will effectively change your account name.

Now, as to why you cannot get in, authenticators sometimes become unsynced. If you had a failed attempt and didn't get a fresh code, that can also cause some issues.

Do I resync my authenticator from the battle.net site?
crud. it was phishing. I just looked closer and it is from a yahoo account.

Just changing your email may very well have refreshed things.

I'd just try to log in again.
I am having issues logging in as well. A couple of days ago I tried to log into my Battle.net account and my password wouldn't work. I reset the pass and logged into my Battle.net account. I noticed my authenticator and sms was disabled. I didn't try to log into my WoW game account. Today, I tried to log into my WoW game account. Password wouldn't work. Tried to log into my Battle.net account, password would not work. I reset the pass and added SMS notifications and Authenticator. Still could not log into my WoW account. It "hangs" after adding authenticator code. Removed authenticator from my account. Still same issue. Disabled Avast. Still same issue. When I enter my password it says "Cancel" and then hangs. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Ok so I have a problem logging into the game. I click on the game and its like its stuck on "checking for updates" and I have nooo clue what to do. Its driving me batty and the only way we have found to fix it every time it does that is to uninstall and reinstall the game. Is there any other way to fix this?
Both of you need to post to Mac Technical Support and Technical Support respectively. Your issues are completely different to what the OP was experiencing over two months ago.
