This was broken?

Starsurge casts that trigger an Eclipse now deal the correct amount of damage.

I didn't know that this was an issue. What exactly was wrong with this spell to begin with? Will this mean a DPS benefit or a loss?
It was a bug fix which ends up being a nerf.

The whole eclipse energy now registers on spellcast instead of spell landing messed up a lot of things. One of them was that if you cast a SS that triggers eclipse, the eclipse happens when you finish the cast, but the damage is applied when the spell lands. The spell is cast outside of eclipse but the spell lands inside eclipse. Therefore free eclipsed spell.
Well then it's neither. Because by that logic, you will still have a buffed spell upon casting a spell that would cause you to leave an eclipse, correct? And with this bug it was not the case?
