Was on a Bathory video and someone commented "Bathory are for gays. Listen to the Gorgoroth and hail Satan."
The irony is absolutely killer.

Gaahl is actually gay but he is one of the best vocalists Gorgoroth had. He is also known for being the most evil person in the norwegian black metal scene. :)
I am in to all metal. I am currently wearing a Behemeth shirt and listening to Marduk.
A friend of mine have this Melo Death group called "Unbowed" you should really check it out if your into that.
The Black Dahlia Murder is quite sexy
Melodic Death Metal

They're alsoooo releasing a new album in June

Track from the new album:
Bal-Sagoth is incredible. Great picks.

I've been working on an album, it's basically Warcraft themed Black Metal in the vein of Bal-Sagoth/Emperor/Evilfeast/etc.

Check it out.
i dont listen to black metal (too many bands that cant write for sh*t that overshadow the ones who can. they focus too much on their message than their music alot i think)

as for death metal: Death, obituary, morbid angel, cannibal corpse, entombed, nocturnus

children of bodom strikes me more as a melo death metal band. thats why they have a lot of "major" riffs in their songs which is more widely accepted among the melo death crowd.

i dont think its terrible music or that anyone who likes it is an idiot, but i cant bring myself to like metal bands that have "core" elements in their songs. whether the bands admit it or not. its just not in my personal taste.
I'm glad Bal-Sagoth was mentioned, makes for great WoW background music.

Besides them, some personal favourites would be At the Gates, Ulver, Sargeist, ABIGOR (can't stress these guys enough), Leviathan, Summoning, Sunn O))), Windir and Xasthur.

I would highly recommend anyone with even a slight interest in black metal ought to check out Abigor. Channeling the Quintessence of Satan is a masterpiece of an album, full of amazing riffs.

As a side note, be sure to check out Daniel Tidwell vs. Video Games. This guys does the best metal video game covers I have ever heard, really good stuff.
