questing w/ heirlooms

Quests
i was wondering if you have to have the heirlooms equipped. in the jade forest i made a macro to equip all of my heirlooms so right b4 i turn in the quest i could get more xp. everytime i went to turn them in with or with out the heirlooms equipped i would get 122k xp. i have also tried accepting the quests with and without the heirlooms and they always give the same amount of xp. i think you dont have to have them equipped. i have always been led to believe you have to have them equipped.
Most heirlooms only work from lvl 1-85. This may be why you don't see a change. But I think it even does that at lower levels, it's kind of like the guild perk "cash flow" the extra money is made but it doesn't show it in detail.
The helm, cape, and legs grant bonus xp up until you hit level 86. As soon as you ding 86 they stop granting you bonus XP.

The chest, shoulders, and ring only work until you ding 81.

That's not quite right.

The bonus XP only lasts until you hit that items max level. So for the helm, cape and legs as soon as you hit 85 the XP bonus ends.

The chest, shoulders and ring the XP bonus ends as soon as you hit level 80.

Unless that changed very recently, they work up to and including the level they claim. If you are level 85 and using the 1-85 heirlooms, you will still gain the bonus xp. I'm almost positive it works that way in MoP.
