Perhaps it is a fanciful situation, but who cares? There aren't any rules saying the possibility couldn't be explored just because you don't think they exist.

Since you're so unwilling, anyone else?

If the tauren somehow managed to mobelize their forces and take Theramore, would it have been a better outcome for the people of Theramore than Garrosh's bomb?
Doubtful, whatever force managed to turn baine the spineless into a leader capable of taking theramoore would leave them pretty harsh.
Fair enough.

I think if the Tauren took the city no remaining defenders, non-combatants, children, or wounded would have been harmed. They would have dismantled the entire city, returned it to the earth, but let all the survivors get in their ships and leave. Possibly 90%+ of the population would have lived if they had given up quickly against overwhelming odds.

If the Forsaken had taken the city....yeahhhh....
Nobility among the orcs comes solely out of strength and heritage. ex:

Thralls a noble because his father was leader of the frostwolf clan, one of the most notable groups among the old horde. Not to mention the affaimed protege of Orgrim Doomhammer

Saurfang is a noble because he's one of the original members of the blackrock clan, not to mention has proven himself in battle time and time again.

Garrosh is a noble because his father was Grom Hellscream, the quintisential badass of all the orcs and leader of the warsong clan.

The only way to prove yourself worthy of ranking up in the orcish horde is to prove yourself strong or have a father or relative who's proven himself strong already. Nobility isnt about how much money you have in the horde, it's about survival of the fittest.
WTB more Frostwolf orcs?

Noble as in the quality, not the rank.
