I Hate Pump.

I'm getting hit for 900 damage with it, non-crit, non-strong.

It stacks a 10% damage buff on itself, it's spammable, it hits harder than most other "hard hitters"(I see Pumps of 800-900 frequently).

Compare Blood in the Water - essentially a two round ability that deals less damage than pump, but has a three round cooldown.

Haaate.
Wind Up.
Fluxfire.

'Nuff said.
That's like saying China has more military power than Botswana.

Or comparing Anacondas to Garter snakes.

This. My Fluxfire is only lv20 and he is hitting for 1500 non-crit, non-strong
In a fight between Botswana and a level 20 Russia, I still wouldn't bet on Botswana.
Is it other players or spirit tamers that are hitting you for 900, non-crit, non-strong

Has to be tamers. I can't think of any way a player pet could do that without a debuff.
I ran into a Purple Puffer hitting me for 800 damage, abouts. It's really strong. =/
Cue WTS Purple Puffer post!
Call the presses spirit tamers have hard hitting pets.....

(-_-)
I used to run two elementals on one of my pvp lineups.

Then I ran into an aquatic with pump.

Replaced one elemental with a fast flying pet and life was good again.

it's not the spirit tamers. It should be no secret that it hits hard as it has more attack power than any other pet with pump.

This, purple puffer has 325 attack power at 25. It hits for 800-900 non crit on types it isnt even strong against. But obviously that dosent even compare to fluxfires and their wind up.

It also is slow as molasses and never goes first.

260 speed is pretty slow, but I have seen pets at 25 have less. Very few though, like my breed 4 infinite whelpling for example only has 244 speed.

my kun lai runt has 244 speed as well. but frost shock does help compensate.
Nearly all whelplings have a slow as molasses speed. Hell, 260 is average in the pet battle arena.

Also, why do people keep bringing up Fluxfire Feline? I am aware that it's strong. That is something with which I am aware.

But I have friends with Striders that crit Pumps against Elementals for 1900. Compared that to my Crocolisk, who crit against an Elemental with Taste for Blood for 1350.
Don't all pets that have 325 attack hit for around 400 dmg a round? I am not seeing the problem here.
My 325 Attack Power Fjord Wolf Pup hits for 345 with Bite.

Two rounds of that isn't even 700.

(Note: I run with Flurry - but it was just an example of the damage of a basic attack compared to Pump.)

Now add in the 10% plus damage from pump. And make it a two round move that a blind man can see.
