Favorite Zone Music

The slow track in Dread Wastes really stood out for me this expansion:

The Battle of Wintergrasp music was stunning (love brass clusters and stacked 5ths), so much so that the zone didn't really live up to it:

Terrokar Forest had similarly awe-inspiring music:

It's one thing to write music evocative of the landscape the zone is in (Scandinavian/Celtic music for Grizzly Hills or the various Middle Eastern tropes for Uldum). It's quite another to give a zone a unique character that hasn't been heard before. I think that's why BC had such good music to me: there were no pre-conceived tropes that had to be followed, since the world was alien anyway.
Grizzly Hills and Scholazar Basin are my faves :)
For zone music, probably Arathi Highlands in Cataclysm

Also, the final track of the orc pet battle music just kinda explodes off the page (or screen) for me. Honestly all the pet battle music was a surprise for me, usually straight and cheeky is conceived of as less epic than the sweeping strings you hear everywhere in WoW but I found it refreshingly direct.

For me the music I enjoyed the most was in Kara.

I totally agree with this, especially the creep piano.

Grizzly Hills and Scholazar Basin are my faves :)
Storm Peaks, but really too many to count. Blizzard has always excelled at music imo, no matter how much they get under my skin sometimes.

edit: Terrokar was pretty awesome as well. To me it felt like Halo music.
Sholazar for me, I just love how relaxing it is, especially when the panflute (I think that's what it is anyways...) starts. I can't help but hum along.

by far Ashenvale has my vote hands down. Wintergrasp too.

Finally. I never thought I'd hear someone else mention Wintergrasp music as one of their favorites.

I also really like Storm Peaks, Terokkar Forest, and the zone music from Old Hillsbrad.

More recently, the Temple of the White Tiger music is really well done:
HF and grizz hills..... also the boat to northrend .... I adore the northrend "transport" music. even bought the CD just for that
Grizzly Hills and Storm Peaks.

The theme used in Grim Batol and part of Ulduar is good, too.
it's a hard choice between Netherstorm and Ghostlands. The music matches very well with these zones.
Temple of the White Tiger in Kun-Lai Summit, and the music near the Hidden Master in Valley of the Four Winds.

I know they're basically the same, but that's why I said both.
I don't usually listen to the game, but I listened a couple of days ago. I'm not sure where I was, but there was some beautiful harpsichord music. I just love harpsichord.
Eversong Woods and Zangarmarsh are my favorite, sounds and visual places to be.
I like Old Orgrimmar. Sounds of DRUM!!!
Zul'Drak and the new music at Domination Point in Krasarang
Stormpeaks hands down. The feeling when I was speeding past everyone leveling my DK the first time, getting all the hate tells, and being deprived of sleep, that music was so serene. It was epic. Haven't found anything close for me yet.
