Item Upgrades

General Discussion
im actually having the same issue. the stats show upgraded on my sword, but in game, it still has the original ilvl. some people said they could see 491, while others(myself included) see 483. the armory shows me at 491
Same here. Upgraded a 458 ilvl piece, said it would be upgraded to 466, but remained at 458 after the upgrade.
Can we get the armory updated to reflect upgraded items?
Heck for some reason I cannot see the ilvl increase on the gear I have upgraded, weird but ol well.

It's a work in progress.

Upgrading items and the new tooltips for the armory are being worked on currently. Sorry for the delay.

If your talking about the in game tooltip for the item, try deleting your cache in your world of warcraft directory. Also if you use the addon TipTac you need to uncheck 'Enable ItemRefTooltip Modifications' under ItemRef.

Upgrades seem to be working now. They were probably added to the armory at the same time as the web API:

Woops, you're right. The items only display their upgraded item levels in the tooltip.
Thanks for the catch Choonster. :D
Having the armory show correct stats is pretty vital to sites like askmrrobot. Even so, it's half fixed... yes the tooltips show the correct stats, but the general display does not... and it should.

Still, they also very much need to look at the wildly inaccurate proc numbers. My Blossom of Pure Snow trink shows an on/use stat of 86 INT... when in fact it's 3595.

I think this is exactly the problem most people are having. I had this same issue with TipTac until I found the ItemRefTooltip checkbox.

Items that have been upgraded do count and contribute towards increasing your character's overall average item level. However, keep in mind that with 15-16 item slots; increasing a single item's level by +4/8 may not be sufficient to make an immediate impact.

True but i knew a friend that max upgraded 2 items and then 1/2an item the same week and ilvl didn't move at all from an increase of 20 ilvl when replacing an item with that gap did

I'm having the same problem as well, it didn't even increase by 1 after upgrading 24 ilvl.
So the armory works for factoring in overall ilvl from upgraded pieces, but it does not take into account upgraded pieces when calculating equipped ilvl? For server ranks and such. I am currently 497 overall, 496 in-game equip ilvl, but when I check the armory it shows me as 497 overall 494 equipped. Why is this?
