Your rMBP video settings?

Mac Technical Support
Hi, I'm really curious as to what your rMBP video settings are. I have the 2.3ghz/16gb/256gb model and doing a 25man ToE LFR makes my macbook sound like it's about to take off from the fan. Normal questing and 5-mans isn't bad, but it still gets pretty hot.

I'm observing this from running the graphics SUPER low too: 960x640, all settings turned to low except for textures at 'Good'. I know about the OpenGL bug with 10.8.2 and SMC Reset. The only reason why I don't want to turn it up higher is because the fans go out of control. Prolonged usage of a computer at high heat = degradation over time, and that's not something I want to put my $2000+ laptop through.

any suggestions? what happened to the 1280x800 resolution?

EDIT: the next higher resolution for me is 1504x940 and that's a nightmare as far as my fans go.

EDIT2: Here's a screencap of my performance... I was getting 25-40 fps in orgrimmar with what i perceive are very low settings.
Bump. Anyone? Hopefully this will be solved in 5.2 and in the meanwhile I'll just let my sub expire til then.

Edit: Here's my system profiler information

i wouldnt worry too much about heat.. have you secured good airflow?

im running a 2010 mac and running wow on 1280x800 with everything on low/medium, capped my fps at 38 and it only dips to 20+ when doing Sha, but the main thing is i have rubber stoppers on the bottom upper left and right hand corners of my mac to elevate it.

this easily takes of a huge chunk of heat since i can play this at 60 degrees celcius with my fan on 5000 rpm

still you should run your resolution a bit higher, it wont really degrade it - ive been doing this for 2 years and ive got about 80% capacity battery left from use and it runs as strong as day 1
