Holy PvP power/resil

Paladin
Hey guys I have a holy pally with about half malevolent gear, weapon, and shield. My Resil is 62.7% and my power is 21.41%. Is that about where it should be for a holy pally with my gear?
yes
Why do you have PvP Power gems in your blue slots if you're Holy? PvP Power isn't necessarily bad, but it's not the greatest gem by any means.
If i'm not mistaken, pvp power also increases healing done to friendly targets
I have been told, by much better pallys than me, to have resil at 66%, and pvp power doesn't matter as much (18-21%).

They tell me to gem as much resil as possible.

I just do what this guy does http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/tichondrius/Zilea/advanced

one of the best pvp hpals in the game.

It does, but PvP Power has no where near the effectiveness that Intelligence has, due to the flat 30% healing reduction.
Because of your mastery, its probably better to stack PvP power. Bigger heals and take less damage is probably better than just taking less damage.
Really depends on if you are doing Rbgs or arena more. I find that in arena resil is more important than in Rbgs. I wouldn't gem straight pvp power tho.

Not necessarily to derail the thread, but this brings up another point. Mastery vs Crit.

I've yet to feel Mastery > Crit for PvP. Why? Because I'd rather get crits and as much Infusion of Light uptime as I can, than a 30% shield that will likely get blown off in a matter of seconds.

And no matter how you look at it, Int > PvP Power for healing. In all cases. Currently.
