New Warrior/Tank - Rage generation question

Warrior
I have created a prot warrior and have a general question about low level rage generation. It seems to me that the only thing that is creating rage for me at my level is Shield Slam and Charge when I open the battle. The problem is when I'm tanking through dungeons it seems like I only use Shield Slam and then wait it out till the cool-down is over so I can do it all again. By the time I have enough rage to do anything the mob is dead.

So my question is; am I doing something wrong or is the way it's supposed to be at my level?
Correct me if I'm wrong at your level do you have access to Thunder Clap / Devastate - when shield slam is on cooldown yo ushould be doing devastate - if not you should be using sunder armor and multiple targets until slam is back up.

let us know what skills you have access to?
I have heroic strike, sunder armour, taunt, execute and victory rush.

Is this just a case of being too low a level to have access to skills that will be part of my regular rotation?
At lower levels it was kind of a pain until I got thunderclap. Basically charge your first target, shield slam, sunder other targets. If you need, mark your targets (skull, X, etc) so you can have dps focus on one target, while you build your aggro on the other targets. Life becomes much easier once you can start thunderclapping, and using devastate which will apply sunder armor. Also I don't remember, but you'll throw in revenge, and cleave. Those will be two AOE attacks, cleave hitting 2 targets, and revenge hitting 3 I believe. Your heroic strike will also be nice for some gains on the threat meter. Hope this helps.

By the way, the first time I started playing prot again, I quit at level 20, and made a new one and loved it once I stuck it out. I started having fun shortly after level 20 or 25! Stick it out!!

Your rotation should be Charge -> Shield Slam the secondary target -> Sunder the main target 3 times -> Shield slam whatever target you wish -> Tab Sunder -> Rinse Repeat

You don't really have an AOE so in the meantime its very good training on how to be very good at AOE holding with limited skills. MOP / Cat / Wrath didn't really teach people how to do that so it's an extremely good skill to learn how to tab Sunder which will eventually become tab Devastate.

Like the post above until you have Thunder Clap you will have difficulty holding AOE aggro. Do your best and leveling isn't really a pain.

Good Luck
