There are so many tools, trinkets and toys in World of Warcraft to use and enjoy, but sometimes there's that one you just can't do without. Things that you use regularly as a part of a ritual or have saved your bacon from almost certain death (at least in your own mind it did).

For me and my guild back when we were raiding places like Molten Core, we so valued the Field Repair Bot 74A that we knighted it, making it a full member of the guild and we put down campfires for luck.

So the question today is, what's the one unusual item you just MUST keep, have, use, adore, covet, and can't live without and why? It could be anything from a favorite pet to a ragdoll you carry, or even a Mechanical Yeti.
Good question.
I used to really love having Linkens Boomerang.
It was my baby.

I have sinced lost it though and I hate myself for losing it :(
Direbrew's Remote - I'm always finding a reason to travel to the bar.
Picnic Basket - In downtime, why not have a picnic
Fishing Hat - I worked hard for the hat, I wear it whenever I can.
Ruthers' Harness

Because yaks are amazing.

My Mage (who is legitimately insane RP-wise) uses the Grey Riding Yak as her main mount, his name is Little Nicky, and sometimes when I'm playing her and riding him around I just go "yak yak yak yak yak yak yak yak yak yak yak yak yaaaaaaaaaaaak" IRL until somebody laughs at me and embarrasses me enough to stop.
Argent Squire/Gruntling. Sadly I haven't worked on Argent Tourney rep yet on this newest character.
Probably my Argent Tournament Gruntling, "Little Man". Sending him to the bank to get stuff to make inscriptions, mats etc in the middle of a raid is nice =)
I've still got the Story of Mogan Ladimore stashed in my bank. I used to read it on long flights.
I like the PKD reference, I was thinking of the gov'ment and their lap dogs the Rand Corporation.
I've been an engineer since I first started playing this game and I've been making Mechanical Squirrels for that long. I have a lot of companions now, sure, but I know that when I need a true buddy by my side (like during particularly trying LFR runs) I've got my Mechanical Squirrel.
Archmage Vargoth's Staff
The pull of a boss was unheard of without his blessing.
I've had a Snuggly Starfish in my inventory since the start of Cata, I don't go anywhere without it!
Teleporter - Area 52. Best debuffs in-game.
I always keep a spare Extreme Back Scratcher handy.
EXTREME!!!
Jeeves.

The little guy must be rich barring his tax cuts.
Don't know where I would be without my favorite butler Jeeves

Interesting, sounds like the same exact thing a guild I was in did.

I bought myself a Grim Campfire loot card a year or so ago and have gotten some ridiculous amount of use out of it. If I'm waiting on something, boss pull or whatever, I'll just set one up and sit down in front of it and start emoting. I've been known to cook bugs over it, and my minions get a kick out of it. The flames apparently have hallucinatory properties. ;)
My good ol' Lil' XT. I can't count the number of pets and trains he wrecked back in the day, when people carried their train set and used it solely to annoy me in our raids. REVENGE!
These things are always in my bags for any special occasion..

Romantic Picnic Basket
Super Simian Sphere

Recently I took a friend to explore some of my favorite areas in the game..
