Evidently it was a bug.
I have composed a macro for you to use.

Edit: Fine. It was introduced in cata to get you used to the new/changing world. It was removed because too much convenience is a bad thing.

..a bug that lasted throughout nearly all of cata?
and a patch or two of mists?

I doubt they're that incompetent.

I know, but it's something I really want to get a good reason for.
I mean seriously, nobody wants to run from orgrimmar to tanaris.
Nobody.

Also, that macro is now bound to 1. Thank ya.
For the same reason HGWT was removed.

So people "could explore the world".
Yeah, i just noticed that this week, it sucks!
Blizz calls it a bug, so it's a bug, even though we know better.

The reasoning behind this is probably some inane thing like "it makes the world smaller" or "it makes the game easier" or "HURR, PRETTY COLORS".

A low priority bug that might be hard to fix could last for a very long while.

I have explored the world since TBC, there is not a point in the world I want to see at all.
I don't care anymore.
I don't want to walk around the world again and again.

Been there, done that at it's finest.

This expansion, Blizz has redefined the word bug. Quick and the Dead's original run speed was a bug, forgetting to proofread the anniversary letter was a bug, and now this.

Which makes me wonder why we even have a section for bug fixes in the patch notes, since technically everything qualifies as a bug now. Shamans could use totems while silenced? That was a bug. Mages talked their way into getting buffed? Bug fix. The Sprite Darter Hatchling model is being replaced with an armorless version of the mount? Bug fix.

Too much convenience is a bad thing? You should probably get rid of your computer then.

You are talking to someone with World Explorer.

I know very well the world, no need to make me look at it even more.

Ok, first character is fine. I'll drive and explore the world. 27th character? I've seen it. I just want to take a plane and get to my meeting.

..I applaud you for even getting that achieve.
I've got the attention span of a goldfish so that'll never happen.
A low priority bug that might be hard to fix could last for a very long while.

Given what else gets called a bug these days though, it seems that if Blizzard changes its mind about something or makes a mistake, they think labeling it as a bug absolves them of fault.

It's not a nerf, because no one ever likes to have something nerfed. It's a bug fix.

We didn't make a mistake. It was a bug.

Once, maybe. Twice, eh. The biggest offender really is the Quick and the Dead nerf, as that was a change to a coefficient. A coefficient. 100% to 10%. Surely someone must have pulled an all-nighter on that one.

If you are on your 27th character and leveling you should know how to do so without really needing flight paths. Zones flow very well from one to the next. 1-60 I hardly even use flight paths.
It'd be cool if flight paths were account wide.

I've explored the old world enough at this point, and just want to get back to newer content.

You've been getting a free ride for far too long.

I wish they would remove ALL flight paths and portals from the game. Lazy gamers.

Yeah, let's swim to the Maelstrom.

You first.
