Best marcos to use?

Paladin
I only use one - I have my trinket and wings (as well as my signature statement) on one macro, but what are some other useful ones?

I have to be honest and say I'm VERY noobish with this, so be gentle and explain what it does and how to do it:

#showtooltip
/cast 14
/cast 13
y/(whatever you want)
/cast Avenging Wrath

This powers you up, and boosts attack power by activating your trinket and wings at the same time. I used to have Holy Avenger, but I prefer the added bonus of longer wing time, so I cut that out. My symbol is the "Up" arrow - signifying the boost in attack power.
#showtooltip Execution Sentence
/startattack
/use 10
/cast Execution Sentence

Pops synapse springs, uses ES

#showtooltip Divine Shield
/cast Divine Shield
/cancelaura Divine Shield

casts Divine shield, second button press cancels Divine Shield

#showtooltip Hand of Protection
/cast Hand of Protection
/cancelaura Hand of Protection

#showtooltip Judgment
/cast [target=mouseover,harm] Judgment; [harm] Judgment
/startattack

Mouseover for multi-censure, can use exo/hammer here too if preferred

#showtooltip Cleanse
/cast [@mouseover] Cleanse

Mouseover for Cleansing diseases/poisons as Ret

#showtooltip Rebuke
/stopcasting
/cast [@focus,exists][] Rebuke

Interrupts focus target, if I don't have a focus target, interrupts current target

/cast [@self, harm, exists, nodead][@target, help, exists, nodead] Word of Glory

casts WoG on myself

These are some of the macroes I use regularly.

Hope the edit clarifies things.
But what do they do?

Edit: thanks.
When I've done macros I've only done /cast.

What's #showtooltip do?

#showtooltip

This determines what shows up for a mousetooltip when you hover over the hotkey on an action bar.

/cast is for talents, abilities, spells, etc
/use is for items like potions, food, healthstones, trinkets
Polo!
Polo!

Paladins Only Live Once...?
#swag#
#showtooltip
/cast [target=mouseover, help] Spell Name Here; [help] Spell Name Here; Spell Name Here

This is a standard mouse over macro. It works like this.

First section is "If I have a mouse over target, cast on them."
Second sections is "If I don't have a mouse over target but have a normal target, cast on them."
Final section is "If I don't have a mouse over target or a normal target, cast on me."
/cast is for talents, abilities, spells, etc
/use is for items like potions, food, healthstones, trinkets

They actually work the same. You can use whichever and it won't matter.

#showtooltip
/cast [target=mouseover, help] Spell Name Here; [help] Spell Name Here; Spell Name Here

This is actually a lot longer than it has to be. You can do the same thing, but consolidated to:

#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover,help][help][] Spell Name
When you say mouse over, do they have to be "selected?" I Imagine you guys are using these in conjuction with the number keys for quick select.

I play with arrows and mouse...no a/w/s/x for me.

Mouseover means it uses the ability on the target your mouse cursor is on top of. It doesn't have to be your current target (and it won't change your target, either). Note: mouseovers can work while hovering over the actual character, nameplates, party/raid frames, or unit frame addons.

If you're clicking abilities with the mouse, you won't be able to use mouseovers, since the mouse cursor will never be over a target when you use an ability.

How you do you activate your abilities? By clicking on them with your mouse?

Is this always the min/max way to do things? I didn't use to do this because I was using an on-use trinket until fairly recently (yes, Lessons of the Darkmaster, in all fairness Ret is/was the third spec on my gearing priority list) so I had to micro-manage my glove tinker.

I'm still wondering if it would be higher DPS to pop my gloves during HA/AW rather than macroing them, or should I just macro them to ES anyways. In case you can't tell, I'm a lifelong healer and tank who thinks about damage intake and healing output, not damage output.

edit: Oh, and more on-topic:

These are Seal macros that I use-

#showtooltip
/cast !Seal of Righteousness

#showtooltip
/cast !Seal of Truth

The ! means that if you hit the button, it will toggle it on but cannot toggle it off. It will still waste a global attempting to toggle it off (so don't just mash it) but you won't fatfinger and accidentally run without a seal. I have a Seal of Insight one for my main spec (I have Insight and Righteousness on my bars for Prot now, I swap to Righteousness for when I'm not actively tanking for extended periods of time because each hit is like 1400 damage even without any Vengeance, I use it if my Battle Healer glyph healing would be wasted), but I feel that the Truth/Righteousness ones for Ret would probably get more use, haha.

Razer Naga. I use arrows as well...and a few buttons around arrows.
