Your favorite love song?

Random question, friends!

Mostly I need some inspiration and haven't found a song that fits for a story I'm writing, and also I am curious.

This one is hard for me as I like a lot of different ones for different reasons, but I think mine is

I just love the playfulness of it, and plus folk music. I have a thing for folk music. It's just one of those songs that isn't overdramatic about things, and is kinda self aware- which is always a plus!

Oh, and tight rhyme schemes. i love me some tight rhyme schemes.

My fiance and I both love this song
Oh that's a good one! I'm like you because yeah, I do love a lot of different songs (and styles).

But for me, hands down, it has to be either (Simone or Bowie version, I like both), or

The second one is more for fun, Hubby and I almost always sing it at the top of our lungs whenever I play the album (or it comes on the radio, or we actually watch that movie, whatere). And while there's a LOT of songs we do that with (much to the glee of our youngest and horror of our eldest), that's one of the few that's a duet.
This one is hard for me too, although for me it's because it seems like 95% of the love songs I like are about screwed-up relationships (unsurprisingly, I have a tendency towards writing screwed-up relationships).

I am quite fond of Gordon Lightfoot's rendition of The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.
I think mine is "Kiss from a Rose" by Seal. Which is weird, because I usually dislike pop songs whose lyrics don't make any damn sense, but something about his voice and the instrumentation just carries me away.
It's tied between two Hanson songs, for me. Nice alternative rock feel to both, and both are a bit melancholy despite being love songs.

Love Song -

Save Me -
Here are a few of my favourites, I really couldn't choose just one, it's so hard!

This last one is for all four of my little ones, it's strange to say but I felt the same way each time I got to meet my boogers, the same and different, it's weird. Adoption is definitely worth a love song though!
Man, this is difficult... especially when SO many good songs are love songs...

This is the first one that came to mind. Fields of Gold is such a timelessly romantic song...

More recently, I've been listening to Honeybee by Steam Powered Giraffe on a loop. It's just lovely and so sweet. Also, robots. <3
Wow. I went through a bunch of my music, and almost everything I thought of as a "love song" turned out to be incredibly depressing and about the loss of love. Huh. Might explain a few things. Haha. Anyway, I'd probably have to go with Kissing You by Des'ree as made famous in William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet.

Great song from a great movie. I'm pretty excited for Great Gatsby this summer by the same director, Baz Luhrmann. Such an amazing talent.

Also, Ingrid Michaelson's cover of Can't Help Falling in Love is fantastic.
I just realized how hard it was for me to find an upbeat love song that wasn't classic rock!

Anyways, this is one of my all time favorites and this live jam version is worth a watch!

Cream - Sunshine of Your Love

Edit: Found one! An amazing acoustic version no less ^_^.

Thrice - The Weight
Under the Sea - Bobby Darin

I would link it, but alas, I'm using my phone and that is way too much of a task for me to handle at 6 AM
Barry White - My First My Last My Everything
Irma - Every Smile
(She's just starting out and she's spectacular! You can find more of her here: )
Iyeoka - Say Yes
Ayo - Only You
Nneka - Shining Star
The Perishers - Nothing Like You and I
Skunk Anansie - You Saved Me
Iyeoka - Simply Falling
Man, with the exception of Cream, The Cure, Hanson, and Barry Whtie, I know like none of these people/bands.
I'm fond of this one.
For you! For you, my life, my love, my all!
Each evening when the twilights falling, I'll come home to you,
Calling, "yoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo."

I'll croon, a little song about the moon.
And when I'm finished with my crooning
On my knees I'll fall!
My life, my love, my all!

I'm a !@#$%^- sucker for video game music and, while this was a mediocre at best game, the piece in question was pretty good. I love music like this.
